I think GAB learned their lesson when Cloudfare fucked them over. They have their own custom anti-DDOS and load sharing system.
this is the way.
roll your own.
fuck everyone else.
Ron has been talking about this for a while and other issues with Parler.
The alternative is pay to host your own servers. there are companies that can platform your services on private equipment. BIG Tech wants control of the data and the network, they simplified development, but at a cost. Data is like crack, free to import but costs you dearly when you want it back. Many in the data center hosting industry are figuring this out, just too late.
AWS, Azure, and GCP must be broken up.. They will cry about it hurting innovation, but it won't. They all suppress innovation!
He's been working on a space based internet known as Starlink. I think beta came out earlier this year. Would be awesome if we find out he's working with the U.S. government...
Yup. The HOSTS have all the power and that is who should be regulated
STOP RENTING FROM BIG TECH
people need to nut up and buy their own servers
The real problem is something much much deeper and evil.
Late 90s - Early 2000, there was a shift in the DNA of the Venture Capitalists funding Silicon Valley start ups. It was such a natural change that when it happened we all applauded it and were amazed at the great direction the world was headed towards.
What was this change?
VCs no longer cared about a company's profitability, but rather its user reach. If you had a company that was adding 1 million users a week, they didnt care if you burnt a million dollars a week. It was a hot company.
Think about the VCs point of view. Why would they value the user reach rather than the profitability of the company ? The explanation givem was "Ad revenue".
People get free services.
Companies sell Ads in return and make money.
Simple, right?
WRONG.
Now with 2020 hindsight, we know that VCs are really puppets of the Globalists. Globalists valued the user reach, not for their ad monetisation, but for monetising the users themselves.
Think about the saying "If the product is free, then you are the product".
And today here we are. Everyone of us, products of Big Tech, who sell our souls to the Globalists.
What does it have to do with running a service ? The expectation that we can build a scalable service that can cater to millions of users, without either going bankrupt, or selling ourselves to the Globalist is a pipe dream.
If you dont want to be a product, you have to pay for the service. Which means, the only trustworthy social networking platform would be either 1. Paid OR 2. Peer to peer and does not require scalable hardware.
Does this site run on AWS?
Probably. Its masked behind cloudflare proxies so unless the creators tell us we won't know
Has CloudFlare every shut down their customer's sites?
8chan
I thibk they may refuse to continue providing service, but they are just ddos protection and cache
I'm responsible for 7 figures($) worth of infrastructure that lives in AWS and for most of it, I have no idea what's even being stored or run on those instances. They have no reason to get rid of us unless there is seriously illegal activity happening here and word gets out. Authorities would have to do a lot before AWS does anything.
gab.com until potus tells us otherwise
https://gab.com/codemonkey
Who cares?
They can setup a new host in mere hours.
Its not as trivial. Most of these platforms use elastic services. This increases and decreases number of instacnes and other resources based on load.
You cant just moveiton a "new host" and expect it to scale for hundreds of millions of people.
Don't give Parler your phone number. Gab is better for now. But they need servers in order to survive the coming crush of legitimate visits and DDoS attacks.
well, there's a kind of provider that's called "bulletproof", as today there are few left of which many of them in Eastern Europe, and are more expansive vs traditional ones, but they won't take down content or take in consideration any cease & desist, basically, are the same ones used by es govs in undercover ops or specialy botnet / MaaS owners for platforms and C&C servers
Gab.com ?
Yeah
So it would seem... Anybody have other suggestions?
https://gab.com/codemonkey
Parler is only actually up so they can use it to collect data. They want to see where important people are. Get IPs, trace people and see where they are actually posting from or hiding.
Remember who owns Amazon. Jeff Bezos
What does Bezos also own? The WAPO.
It's not there out of the kindness of their hearts, it's because they have no idea where Potus actually is or other key people they need to stop.
Codemonkeyz has commented on their shit security protocols for a while. That's why he never signed on there.
So Bonjino is controlled oppo you reckon?
I've been suspicious of Parler from day 1. I believe it was a honeypot meant to collect information and create databases. The reasons are bullshit, Bongino makes a ton of money playing his part. Parler was meant to create a database of people with tendencies to oppose the democrat rule and put them on lists and tie their real names to them. The information needed to sign up for Parler was like applying for a credit card.
You think that it would have got where it was if it wasn't controlled? You think Amazon wouldn't have rushed in to virtue signal with every other big tech company and slam down parler within an hour like Apple and Google? No. It's there for a reason.
I really hated the fact that it needed a phone number. Never sounded kosher to me
They wanted to make absolutely sure they were getting the right person. You were literally signing your name to everything you posted, liked or even looked at. It was always going to be used against people. They won't make it obvious, they'l have the servers shut down and Amazon will hand the data over to the FBI or somebody for use in their investigations. Boy wouldn't you know it, they've now get the names and addresses of tens of thousands of new "terrorists"
C ant they just track your ip address without email and do the same tracking?
Yes, but it gives them a lot less to work with. Parler doesn't just require an email address, it requires a phone number. The email can track it back to a certain IP for the majority of people which can point to a physical address. The phone number has an actual name and address tied to it. Gives them more assurance as to exactly who somebody is. It's not about safety or gatekeeping, it's about data collection. People are far too willing to give away tons of information or permissions on their phones these day.
I don't believe he knows anything about it.
Yeah he seems legit, but I dont think he’s into Q
Hes just a conservative and a friend of trump
100% has to be if he agreed to use aws.
Ah yes AWS. Sadly all platforms run on AWS Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Not platforms like banned.video and london real. They had to build their own complete infrastructure.
I am sure Trump will announce a brand new platform
bitchute is distributed peer to peer I believe. Not sure about others
Shame on me, I never thought about the power they had over so many cloud-based platforms. Amazon Web Services will not allow dissenting voices to speak. I heard they also got shit off by GoDaddy...maybe that was their backup?
AWS has 0 reason to ban Parler, I don't even think GCP(Googles AWS) would ban them unless they were explicitly doing something illegal.
It's a lot harder to justify banning a customer from that sort of platform, than it is banning an app from an app store or a user from a social media platform.
You have no idea how deep state works
Neither do you, but I know how AWS works.
Okay buddy
what about 8kun? 4chan?
Other than win, not sure what other boards there are?
Telegram! Lots of encryption
gab is the superior choice.
https://gab.com
Apple and Google banned them a long time ago
Thats all the endorsement I needed
What is this site run on? AWS? Are we safe?!
Is that what you expected? To be safe?
I sure hope thisis not running on aws
Yep, as crazy as it sounds moving it Alibaba cloud is prolly the best move, unless you obscure the DNS on Azure, which I've got limited experience on. All this said...expect a blackout.
I would appreciate if you can throw some pointers to the obscuring DNS on Azure. No matter what you do, wouldnt the IP address be exposed and they can figure out where its hosted?
What if, lets say, we hosted something on Amazon, but put VPN servers in front of it on a different service provide which dos nothing but pass through the traffic encrypted - then perhaps you can really hide where the service is hosted
