Was it a break or a sprain? If just a sprain it wouldn’t be unreasonable to be healed by now.

A fracture is a break. Takes 6 weeks to heal when you’re not old. And muscle would be atrophied afterwards. He wouldn’t have been able to walk for weeks.
Correct. I've had fractures in hand. Took 6 weeks to heal. Hurt like hell too.
The senile old fart has forgotten he's supposed to have a broken foot .
Lol
Wrong. I am old. Took six months with boot. I was not slowed down at all.
He had the boot on different feet each day.

I remember hearing about the switcheroo with No Name's boot but didn't see the pics. Thanks!
Read the article again to refresh my memory, yeah ok. Probably wasn’t the dog named Major, but probably a Major slipped that ankle monitor on his “fractured foot”.it amazes me how completely stupid they think we are.
I doubt it's criminal, it's probably a tracking device to make sure he doesn't wander off like a dementia patient from the old folk's home.
Duel purpose boot!
Not necessarily.
I broke and sprained my ankle back in 2013 or so. I was not given a cast because the sprain held everything in place and would take longer to heal than the break, as per my doctor at the VA
But are you in your 70's?
Old folks take much, much longer to heal and need more support for a bone injury.
That was my first thought.
He is also 900 years old lol
Yeah sprains can be terrible. I had a "not so bad" ankle sprain according to my doctor and my foot and ankle were swollen, bruised and in pain for over a month.
At what age, and overall health condition?
Swelling is known to stabilize bones in the feet for long distance runners. Sprains cause swelling.
