I am on team March 4th inauguration. If that's how this plays, this looks exactly like my boss before he leaves on a 2 week vacation. But definitely not one who's leaving
"Here's how shit should run, here are things you need to do. Alright boys, I'll have limited access to email see you in a bit"
A20 does NOT override the inauguration date itself, but specifies term expiration of NOON of Jan. 20. A 2 week gap could occur between oath taking and inaugurtion. BUT. Someone must be sworn in at NOON of Jan. 20. Let's not loose track of that.
2 different dates, it seems. But this Wednesday someone MUST be swonr in, inauguration is just a celebration, nothing else. OATH TAKING is key.
Correct, date ends term of current POTUS and VP, and states "and the terms of their successors shall then begin." Granted, it doesn't mandate an inauguration to take place on the 20th. Section 3 actually addresses cases about what happens if the "POTUS elect" and "VP elect" died, resigned, or don't qualify by the 20th. Also, if the election hadn't decided a winner yet. It provides for who shall act as temporary POTUS until one is determined. So, the next date would be March 4th (12th Amendment).
