Since it's constitutional to impeach ex-presidents once they leave office... why can't we impeach Obama for lying to us about Obama-care and the $2,500 annual savings that never materialized?
Or can we impeach Obama for the $Billions in cash he gave Iran on pallets left on a dark Iranian airport tarmac at night?
Whether it reflects the actual trial vote or not seems to be irrelevant. The fact that only five voted that it's constitutional reflects (IMO) that the Dems will NOT get 17 to vote for conviction.
Have not checked yet. Sasse? I am more than happy to hear that only 5 rats crossed, suspected that both Portman and Toomney will do as well, both are "retiring" and probably don't care, and both hate Trump. Though, both do need to go back to their communities for retirement.
So, even Portman, openly hating Trump, did not go along. And, interestingly enough, Turtle has not, either. Its most likely his last term judging by the revolt in KY and people already planning a primary.
The turtle probably will vote to convict, or otherwise knows he is wholly fucked by his constituents hating him and if he does that there is no possible way for him to ever win re-election, or even step outside his home again.
This is good. I heard Rand Paul talk about this today. He was hoping for at least 40. Got 45. They need at least 66 to convict. More proof this is a big circus and waste of time. Rand kept mentioning also that he was sure Schumer spoke with Roberts in a private conversation and begged him to come to preside over the proceeding and he wished a brave reporter would ask Schumer this question. Not holding my breath for that to happen.
If they set this precedent and I have no doubt they will do this. Just remember, Obama will be impeached next once we regain control and we will regain control.
"The president, vice president, and all civil officers of the United States are subject to impeachment."
The Secretary of State is a civil officer position, is it not? Impeach Hillary and disqualify her from ever running for or holding a federal office again. Eric Holder. Susan Rice. You can also punish Trump traitors... like Krebs. The Mooch. The possibilities are endless! \o/
And best of all: impeachment shuts down the Senate for the duration of the vote! You can lock up an opposition controlled Senate for their entire term by settling old grudges and flooding them with Karen cases since "high crimes and misdemeanors" can apparently mean any shit you care to make up.

These clowns are setting a great precedent. Maybe a Precedent that we can soon use?
Gonna be hard to impeached Barry from Gitmo
Nah, we can Zoom him in.
Or can we impeach Bush for 9/11? Iraq? Afghanistan?
Or impeach Obama for the destruction of Libya and crimes against humanity? Or Syria? Or Somalia?
Obama already can't run again.. Pointless to impeach.
Why not? You didnt learn that Democrats can simply ignore laws they dont like?

So yea, the sham will FAIL.
They got all but 6 to vote to certify
I thought it would be 5 but whatever - has anyone seen a list of the traitors yet? Mittens, Murkowski, Collins, McConnell ???

(1) Collins (ME)
(2) Murkowski (AK)
(3) Romney (UT)
(4) Sasse (NE)
(5) Toomey (PA)
5 more Republicans that are ready to retire.

The five traitors
(1) Collins (ME) (2) Murkowski (AK) (3) Romney (UT) (4) Sasse (NE) (5) Toomey (PA)
I'm actually shocked that the Turtle voted against it.

55 US Senators are illiterate. Sad.
The trial is needed: SHOW the evidence to the people.
Perhaps some people voting to reject this just want to see the evidence Donald will present

Why stop there?

Thanks, Democrats!
