I just realized something. You don't need official office and the military anymore to rule the country. All you need is a monopoly over the media conglomerates and you will essentially OWN the people of America. The treasonous rats in congress dance on the media's puppet strings. The real war is happening behind the scenes and MSNBC, CNN, The New York Times, and all the other propaganda machines are the prizes and the battlegrounds. Whoever controls the news, controls the hearts and minds of the people who consume it, controls the people who consume it, controls the country, controls the whole fucking world. The media and big tech need to have their stock prices lowered and lowered and lowered until Trump and his allies can buy them up in a hostile takeover. That means having their credibility ruined and their ratings in the toilet. Once he gets the media, Biden and the Dems and the Rinos and everything in-between will dance on Trump's puppet strings and will have to kiss his ass for the rest of their lives knowing full well how they treated their new boss and his family.

It would be difficult to do this. Take the NYT for example. Today it is "worth" (market capitalization) $8.3 billion. Even if you could buy all the shares (or a 51% controlling interest) through a hostile takeover or in the open market, that is just one MSM outlet. Others, like the Washington Post are not publicly traded outright, but are owned by other, larger firms and holding companies. Even if someone could buy CNN from Timewarner (or AT&T, or whoever owns it now) there is the distribution, satellite, internet, and other companies involved in the process. Plus, the current owners may not be interested in selling to a group they suspect might be tied to Trump or another conservative group.
Not IMPOSSIBLE, but it would take a lot of money and time and semi-complicit owners to chip away at it.

He very well could have his own faction of defectors. He probably got enough dirt on all the swamp during his time in office to completely take the place of the hands controlling the puppet strings. He's beating them at their own game.
