You misunderstand Christianity.
Jesus Christ is our help. So we are not helpless.
Living faith requires action, so we are not passive.
We merely believe the Bible is accurate about what we have witnessed about ourselves: that after experiencing one moral failure after another, we lacked the ability to commune with the Holy God who made us, knows all things, and will be the Ultimate Judge.
Jesus died to pay for our moral failures and rose again to give us a new life in the Spirit. We use that new life to live for God and others.
The computer virus analogy is a little inaccurate. Our problem is we got a corrupted operating system from our first boot-up. We need God to wipe the hard drive and give us the OS our hardware was designed for. Only then can we function to our best ability as the Maker intended.
Catholic church h hasn't been exactly good about giving tjeor people the Word Of God. Just a bunch of useless ritual. Read the Bible as believing comes from hearing the word of truth. The Word of God itself when acted upon is believing. All else is mental assent and not productive.
I find people who can't control their minds to be so strange. So many people are sad and depressed only because they choose to be. It's a choice, it really is.
It isn't a choice to be unhappy, the idea that "real" happiness can only be found in you is nothing more that the new age version of "pull yourself together"
If you can shrug off depression like you take off a jacket you are very lucky indeed, it isn't an option for a lot of people.
Depression is not what they are talking about. Controlling the mind is key. Renewing it to the rightly divided Word Of God is how its done. Its not simple.will power, it includes utilizing God's Word and work.

They were not working for God despite their thinking and professing too. They worked for the pope and the Roman catholic church. The Roman church has as much to do with God as CNN news. It’s not sufficient for us to believe in Jesus Christ, but we must also call out and proclaim Him our Lord & Savior.

Christ was sacrificed so we could be reconnected via the gift of holy spirit to God. Not for moral issues. We were dead spiritually until born again.
All issues spring forth from people being disconnected from God.

The only way is through God.
God doesn’t come crawling to you and say kick your feet up, and I’ll take care of everything. Just lay back and live a perfect happy life.
But He is the start. He is the foundation that ALL else is built upon.
It takes ACTION to take the all important first step. And then the action continues each and every day of our lives.
