I’m not a Christian. I’m avowedly conservative.
My values and life revolves around family and honor.
More and more it is clear that we are fighting an adversary that is, for lack of a better term, evil. Evil, simply doesn’t do it justice.
It’s depravity. Perverse unnatural depravity.
What is there to prevent those of us that follow different religious paths from being lumped in with these perverts?
Don’t try to assign it a label. You know in your heart what the truth is it sounds like. Hold on to that.
Part of the reason we are in the place we are in is because many called themselves Christian and practiced on Sunday and Wednesday evenings and thought that reciting a line professing belief was the extent of their commitment.
It’s about your relationship with truth. Cling to that and find God where you need to.
If you want a great series to listen to, listen to Jordan Peterson’s biblical series. A psychologists perspective on the Bible. Not “Christian” at all but a different take than the traditional.
I second Jordon Peterson.
A scholar an a hero for the age.
Yep! Really changed the way I saw things. Never watched much of his SJW takedown videos, but really liked his lectures
I saw the one SJW takedown video, thats how I found him.
All of his lectures are spot on, they are definitely enlightening.
If your values are family and honor and you eschew evil, I’m surely not going to lump you in with the perverts. I’m a Christian, but I’m certainly not going to judge you. Who are you thinking is judging you?
You're not judging and I'm not, but you can look at other responses on here and in other threads to see the attitude M1A2Gunner is describing. If you're on the side of good, you're with us and no one with any sense will lump you in with the evil. Those who do and feel the need to tout their superiority - fuck'em?
What concerns me is that zealots can be found in both liberal and conservative varieties.
Being villainized by communists because I oppose abortion, support President Trump, only to be accused of being a witch or Satanist because I wear a wolfshead torq and Mjolnir pendant puts me and my family walking on social eggshells.
Yeah you get painted into a corner whether you want to be there or not. The left is the master of stereotyping even if they say they are against it.
Yeah.
I get weird looks from lefty pagans that are really confused that I’m conservative, long time Republican, big Trump fan, 2A supporter, pro-life...
One that throws most people off is that I’m a huge believer in psychedelics... if they are used right. Lots of Christians think that is opening the door up to Satan, but it did nothing but show me the truth and strengthen my faith in my God.
Yeah.
Heathens and mushrooms go way back.
Ever wonder why Santa is red and white?
Evil is evil regardless of your religion or lack thereof, unless your religion IS the evil.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
If you don’t follow “Christ” then at least follow his words and his commandments. You may think that the church has been taken over and I will agree, but Gods Word aka the Bible is and always will be true.
In my belief it is your Christ that follows the laws of the Aesir.
In fact was one of Odin’s sons. Christians and heathens have more in common than most would care to admit.
I have no idea how you can come to the conclusion that Christians and Heathens have commonalities. There are Christians and then there are hypocrites posing as Christians. All you have to do is read Gods words. Don’t do it because some guy on the internet told you to. Do it because you think that this world was created by something bigger than all of us.
It’s because you have been told we don’t.
I despise abortion. There’s only two genders. It’s a man’s duty to protect and provide for his family. A woman’s role is to nurture children and conduct the finances and business. I could go on.
There is only one God! No man can be saved from evil and death unless saved by the love of Christ our Lord.
That's rather close minded and divisive.
You should be more accepting of other religions.
I can understand this sentiment he has.
What worries me is that zealotry can be just as dangerous as the pedophile overlords making human sacrifices in the name of whatever unclean spirit that holds sway over them.
Isn't his sentiment zealotry?
Amen.
Shit, if you aren't a baby eating monster, just being aware of what is going on makes you one of us.
Everyone who has seen what they do knows evil exists, and everyone picks a side. You picked the good guys.
Succinct and accurate?
You are a Christian, you just described yourself as one. Ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sins and repent of them. You will be sealed by the Holy Spirit and protected by the power of the Almighty.
Well if you're speaking about God.... nothing.
Sin is sin to God. Any sin causes an eternal separation between us and Him. His standards are so high, he considers hatred to be murder and lust to be adultery. No one can measure up or earn their way to heaven.
For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our wrongdoings, like the wind, take us away. -Isaiah 64:6
Think of God like the best Judge in the world. If the best Judge sees before him a man that has broken the law, is he going to say well look at the good things he's done. Sure he murdered that woman or stole that thing, but he also helped his neighbor out that one time. So we'll give him a pass. Would that be a good judge or a bad judge? God is a good judge. He judges us based on His law. We have all broken His law.
So here's the good news. God sent His son Jesus to Earth. He lived a perfect life as fully God and fully man. He died on the cross for the sins of mankind because of His love for us. He desired that we should all spend eternity with God.
For the wages of sin is death. That's the punishment we all must pay for our sin, but when we place our belief in Jesus, we can have everlasting life and live eternally with Him.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. -John 3:16
Jesus also gave us a promise:
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. -Matthew 7:7-8
All you have to do is sincerely pray and ask God to reveal the truth to you. Jesus promised that all who seek will receive answers and will know the truth. And you are not alone right now in asking questions. I believe God is doing some amazing things right now. I have never shared the Gospel and talked to so many people about Jesus as I have in the last few weeks. It is beautiful to watch. I will be praying for you my friend. And remember it's not about religion. Religion is what we do. This is about a relationship. Please don't hesitate to message me if you want to talk or pray together or anything. <3
The All-Father and the Aesir are as real to me as Christ is real to you.
I do not have a book from which I can quote scripture.
In fact much of my religion is lost to time.
What I can say is that there is a creeping darkness that has gripped the hearts and souls of people we have entrusted with governance and they prey upon the innocent as wolves amongst cattle.
It is beyond evil. It something worse than evil. It must be resisted or it will extinguish all that is good and beautiful.
That evil is Satan. They are Luciferian. They worship Lucifer of the Bible. The most beautiful angel who wanted to be God and who God cast out of heaven.
We know from The Book of Revelation that God will win in the end. I do not believe we are in endtimes, yet. Every prophecy in the Bible has happened except for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
It is said that in endtimes the Anti-Christ will rise up and set himself on the throne in the Temple and declare himself to be God.
I have yet to see an Anti-Christ rise to power, and there is no Temple or throne for him to sit on. So I do not believe this is the end, but merely a practice run for Satan.
I believe God will pour out His spirit on this land and crush our enemies. I believe a Great Revival is coming.
You have the free will to decide what it is you believe. I am not here to force anyone, but God commanded me to share the good news of Jesus Christ whenever I can. So I've done that, and now the rest is up to Him and to you.
This. And... there is a whole lot of information about evil in the Bible. Start there.
It doesn't matter where you find truth. For it all comes from Source (God)
My suggestion is to read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the KJV version on the Bible. It’s the Gospel of Jesus. I know you say you aren’t Christian but maybe it will help you understand a little better. Some of those that say they are Christian are not. Remember that. Today I watched the Passion of Christ and I cried once again. Of course this is up to you, but maybe it will give you some peace.
KJV is important.
Interesting question.
I've never personally researched it very deeply, but I would be surprised if there were not direct parallels in all religions across the world of the concept of evil, beyond those of Judeo Christian origin.
As much as Muslims are derided, a very large swathe of their tenets is a direct appropriation from Judeo Christian teachings. Not the goat fucking and beheading mind you... Lol. But there's much good that they "culturally appropriated" which is most likely the fuel that captures good people's hearts in the first place, stolen or not.
There is much wisdom in 'Do unto others as you would have others do unto you'. This negates much bad behaviour instantly, because once you reverse perspectives you realise what an abomination acting like an evil dick really is on the world. And conversely, how much good comes from spreading love and kindness to all you encounter.
There is good in every (non-Satanic) religion to be gleaned. To claim that the ONLY way to God is Christianity when there is a very large number of people on Earth who live good and worthwhile lives without it, seems a stretch to me, personally. And this is coming from someone with a Judeo Christian background, so go figga ma diggaz.
1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
It's the Great Awakening
Rejoice.
I like that you identify what is happening as evil. Define for your self what is good. As you explore good I believe you will find God fits that definition of Good. The next part if you look into reading and studying Gods word by reading the bible. Also, look at history. It sounds like you may have had a somewhat negative impression of religion.(sadly very common today) The goal is a relationship with God. It's not about the strict adherence to rules. God is love. He accepts us where we are now.
