Politics aside, the whole point of a cloud provider says you can abandon your entire IT management team because Amazon does management.
Oh you don't have a team?
Well I guess that means you can pay for a IT management team you didn't really need.
If you can't think of a good reason for amazon's 5 9's guarantee, you probably don't need amazon.
Parler learned the hard way why you can't depend so heavily on 3rd party services to do the heavy lifting. (they clearly built their backend completely around AWS and are having to rebuild from the ground up)
AWS = Amazon Web Services
it could also mean American Welding Society... but that's not really in this context.
Government ended up going with Azure. Those data centers will be online Q22021.
What is AWS?
Amazon Web Services. This is the division of Amazon that provides hosted servers to BIG operators like Netflix, US government, etc, and also provided services to Parler until they took it down recently. AWS is the cadillac/deluxe provider of such services. Others in the space are Microsoft Azure, and something from Google.
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to share this info.
IBM too. Some don’t want the cia I mean aws system.
The Post has been a CIA paper since the 50s. That likely puts bezos in the same category.
