So when talking to people who identify as LEFT. I found another way to help with red pilling people.
I tell people the reason why I am center/right. Is because of POWER.
As you move over to the left. What you are really saying is that you want POWER to be transferred over to the state.
As you move over to the right. What you area really saying is that you want POWER to be transferred over to the people.
After I state this.
I ask them a question.
Why should I TRUST power to the state? When they can FORCE you to comply at GUNPOINT?
You cannot undo a law as easily as you think.
This tends to get them to think differently.
That's how my conversations always go, because I'm a libertarian.
There are some people who simply think with an authoritarian view. If they use phrases liken "Can we just," "Can we please stop," "Why such and such non important thing is a problem," they almost certainly say the words "there should be a law for that" daily.
Back when I used to be able to be friends with liberals, this one liberal couple came to sushi night, and they never did because it's too expensive. The other 5 couples at the table, myself included, are wealthy, right leaning people. One couple already ate but came for some sake. We used to do this weekly so the joint knew all of us by name and knew to split up separate checks. So liberal boy and his girl order up $240 between the two of them when a typical bill is only $60 a person. When the check comes, he throws a hissy fit about thr separate checks and tells the poor waitress to go being back one bill. Couple that already ate and had a $16 bill for one bottle of sake is like wtf, but homie is not letting up and tells us that's our fault we didn't order more and if you're not going to eat you shouldn't come to dinner. Honestly, none of us ever care about the bill and it's not uncommon for one of us to not have our wallet (wearing board shorts) so we ask the waitress if she could bring back a check for the 10 who ate and keep the other tab separate. She does and the liberal keeps complaining how unfair this is that their bill isn't going to be split as low. So the next time we invited them out, we put them in the couples position purposely inviting them out after seeing on social they had already gone to dinner. They joined for drinks, and we threw a hissy fit that it wasn't fair if they don't split the check with us (this time a steakhouse with $80 plates) and got the exact OPPOSITE argument hahaha. We never hung out with them again.
Sorry for the book... but there are just some people who are so selfish and deluded, that they will hold double standards and never see this argument. They want all the freedom in the world while wanting to lock everyone else up. Weather it's politics or dinner, they act in the same, hypocritical way. They're the 6% that are unsaveable.
Sadly, that is a very good example.
Goodness gracious.
So unbelievably crude.
So entitled.
They expected someone else to pay their bill, so they took advantage.
And got caught with their greed hanging out.
That is really excellent. I have heard to it’s the different between wanting big Government that tells you want to do or small government that lets you make decisions for yourself. “Do you like to make decisions for yourself or do you want the government to make decisions for you?”
I use to try Big vs Small Government. That was less effective then using the word "POWER".
I think power works better for me. Because people know that humans will abuse power if it's given to them.
Therefore the question becomes.
Do you want the State to have more power. When they control the "Police" and "Military".
Ask the person 2 questions.
Here's an analogy that might also work.
Imagine you're a woman, working class.
You meet a rich man who wines and dines you. Buys you expensive stuff.
He wants you to marry him.
As soon as you say I do, he locks you in the cellar of the mansion and gives you water and crackers from then on.
Won't let you see your family or friends.
If you ever get someone to listen to your complaints, he tells people you are crazy and a liar; look at the wonderful home, car, and other things he provides for you!
Bait and switch.
Interesting perspective. Thanks!
The thing is that liberals believe they are intellectually and morally superior to everyone else.
They also believe in the greater good.
So if they know best and their modus operandi is the greater good, then they know what's best for everyone.
Their goal with government is to take control so everyone has to do it their way, which they believe is the best outcome. They believe I forced vaccinations because they get vaccinated and unless the government mandates it, people are too stupid to get it.
Remember, this is the party that believes they are the saviors of non-whites who are too dumb to know how to vote and don't have internet access while calling everyone else racist.
In my worldview, I'm an atheist. I can happily co-exist with Ron Paul because I believe he has a right to his religion because I have a right to mine, and vice versa. We respect each other's right to sovereignty.
That basic agreement isn't an option in liberals worldview. It's their way or our way. To see this in action, try explaining to a socialist how you have zero problems with voluntary collectivism (non-government mandated social cooperation). They only believe in the false dichotomy that the government enforces it with violence or they can't do it.
These people are really dumb.
I agree with you. For those people who wanted it THEIR WAY and only THEIR WAY. The only thing that can be done is to call them out. To say something like.
LOOK...You are an AUTHORITIAN that think you are better than me. No need to continue on talking. Take Care.
Well said!
Wanted to share an analogy I've used when challenged by someone that wants you to prove to them that everything they believe from their trusted sources is actually incorrect in one conversation. Obviously, this cannot be done. You can't undo years of programming and indoctrination, and people will not and cannot accept that the "news" sources they trust are nearly 100% fake. It's a waste of your time and everyone's time. The best you can do is ask the right question, and hope to trigger some cognitive dissonance that might lead someone to at least consider looking deeper into something themselves.
When you encounter someone who wants to use as "proof" that you are incorrect that you cannot definitively refute their views, since they are backed up by their own worthless sources and consistent with MSM indoctrination, you can give them the "Fat person analogy" - nothing against fat people, just a way of looking at and explaining why they won't be able to get a new direction from you in one conversation. This is for the person who wants you to prove something to them, right then and there, that what you say is correct... meanwhile they are looking for any reason to discount what you said.
If you have a person that eats poorly, makes terrible dietary decisions, and has put on tons of weight over the years... you can't just send a dietician over to speak with them and expect everything to be fixed right away. There are potentially years and years of damage that needs to be undone. Not only would they have to start making different choices, they would need to know what choices to make before even taking their first new action. Beyond that, they would need to decide whether they even WANT to make a change. The exact same thing is true for those indoctrinated on fake news and MSM sources. You can be up against a lifetime of indoctrination, and would be undercutting someone's entire worldview. People cannot and will not react well to that.
In most cases, people aren't ready to learn the truth, nor do they even WANT to know... for many different reasons. When you find someone who MIGHT be open and interested in the truth, but is unconvinced because you can't give them a good enough reason in 90 seconds... or maybe they already know better than you because they watch CNN and read NY Times posts on twitter ever morning... remember this analogy. Ask the right question, trigger cognitive dissonance... maybe they are smart enough to want to learn more for themselves. Verbal persuasion will fail 99% of the time.
Triggering cognitive dissonance in them will either go unnoticed, angers them (causing reflection at a later time), or is the holy grail and their awakening moment.
It's that last one that is thr most fun because it opens up a much deeper conversation with them where minds really start to change.
The one time you get that response alone makes all the others worth it. :)
Yeah usually dissonance triggers an emotional outburst. It's a defense mechanism and they don't even understand why they're doing it.
Very very good!
I add that if it goes to the conclusion, Left leads to world government which tends to be run by commissioners like in the EU and you can't vote with your feet to get to a safer region, and nobody has to compete for your vote or to keep you on side.
Total government = zero autonomy
I typically play stupid ....
I say things like,
I try very hard not to "pick a side" but to simply offer conflicting information from a neutral party.
I find that by not disagreeing with them directly they are less prone to argue and more prone to have a discussion.
Pretty much ...
Well put.
Tell them you’re independent and expose the corrupt system on both sides...been working real well lately! Don’t cast blame, they all suck, they’re all compromised and bought/paid for.
AMEN BROTHER!!!
You are 100% correct.
Because Mitch M is apart of the state as well as Nancy P. An increase in State Powers will increase both politicans power.
Yep had this conversation the other day and I said do you think Mitch or Nancy give a fuck about any of us and they said no...I said there you go the whole system is corrupt. Our politicians are bought/paid for and we can’t afford their price. Also explained how they don’t work for us and we don’t even elect them, they just put whoever they want into office.
