I would suggest leaving the convo alone for awhile. When she brings up politics. Just say you are stressed out of it. Let's not talk about it.

Distance yourself from the convo. Sometimes distancing will allow for personal reflection.

If you can't resist if she brings it up. Try just keeping it short with something like.

Smile at her and say. You know where I stand lol. Then move one.

People can resist when they seem like they are being forced to change.

I had that same experience with my brother.

The dems won him over with the promise of checks and benefits. He's slowly realizing he can't survive off of politicians.
