Is a controversial opinion, but if anyone deserved reparations, it was the slave owners. Government has to pay you for land when they take it, why not your other property? It was legal when they owned them, taking their property away without compensation is ex post facto punishment.

The idea that whites should compensate blacks is erroneous, as in America there were white slaves and black slave owners, not to mention that not all black Americans today are descended from plantation slaves.
