I have to agree. I know people who have had COVID and they said they lost their sense of smell and taste temporarily. I've had the flu countless times in my life but never experienced that - it's not a flu symptom to lose those senses. The virus itself is definitely real. But I don't think for a minute it's as contagious as they've made it seem. I know 2 married couples where one spouse got it and the other didn't. We had a lady in our office get it, and we don't wear masks unless clients come in, but nobody caught it from her. It's not a big office. So I've seen for myself how contagious it's not.
EVERY flu strain is different. It naturally mutates, every year -- so it doesn't surprise me that they consider it "the regular flu". I haven't had the flu in many years, but one thing I remember and have seen it in others ever since -- every flu strain seems to have its own "personality" in terms of length, symptoms, severity, etc. Just because cov19 causes a slightly different profile than "regular flu" doesn't mean anything to me -- UNLESS they can unequivocally, scientifically prove otherwise -- with sources.
