Agreed! I'm a nurse and have been shunned for thinking like this and not getting the vaccine....I'm over it! The ONE element that doesn't make sense is WHY are people losing their taste and smell???? No other illness does this that normally floats around....are we having a normal cold and flu season MIXED with biological warfare perhaps??
I'm a nurse with the same thinking as you. I wonder if perhaps some of these odder symptoms are a type of mass hysteria. 'They' put it out there and suddenly susceptible people experience symptoms that they don't actually have.
I am not 100% sure I had it in Dec 2019 because there's no way I'm willingly getting in any test queue. But I had all the symptoms except excessive cough, and the smell and taste loss were definitely real. I ruined a lot of meals, at the time I attributed it to being too weak to stand around watching it cook, plus not really wanting to eat what tasted like cardboard at best. This is before anyone outside China knew about it, so suggestion was not at work. I understood the real problem after I started to feel better and experienced fitful bursts of extreme fragrance. It doesn't seem unreasonable to me that an URI would affect the olfactory nerve--colds and sinus infections do. Another possibility is that this virus affects the nervous system more than we know, but unpredictably like Guillian-Barre syndrome. That said, I've noticed many people don't have a very good sense of smell normally and symptom lists do make them aware.
If you live near an international airport, that would indicate why in December; I live near DIA and was actively going to busy stores and the flea market in December and January when I got the 2 week coughing fits. The Wuhan jetsetter peeps going around the world on the CCPs yuan spreading whatever it is in airports and using the airports as the vector point.. Biological warfare indeed... :(
Well, I'm in Phoenix and we have winter visitors. The Grand Canyon is a must see for Chinese tourists. Also I had to fall back on China for some craft items. I think it was that.
My wife teaches adult ESL. One of her student returned from China around Thanksgiving in 19 and was sick as can be. Wife got sick and went through three rounds of antibiotics trying to shake it. Went on a trip to Africa after Christmas and took anti-malarial pills. It miraculously disappeared once we got to Africa. We just attributed it to changing from North American winter to the heat near the equator. It sure sounds like she had it.
Seriously, why no CHina flu in Africa? No ones asking this. I’m going to ask that question next time I’m attacked for not wearing a mask
Thanks for that response!
Like placebo? Placebo is one hell of a drug
All the information about Covid-19 is disinformation. It's impossible to know the truth about anything about it.
Having said that, there is a substantial amount of evidence that sars-cov-2 is a real virus and it has spread through the world causing sickness. I have done a great deal of (online) research on this topic and I have yet to see one credible piece of evidence that it doesn't exist and a great deal of evidence that it does. I am inclined to believe these statements of non-existence originated as disinformation. For example:
This small list is the tip of the iceberg of what is going on in sars-cov-2 investigations. Any damning evidence about the virus' origins, or machinations, like the vaccine and mask studies and data, are being suppressed. HOWEVER, they all support the idea that sars-cov-2 is a real virus.
If there exists any evidence to support the idea that the virus does not exist, I invite anyone to provide that. I have no feelings on the truth of this matter whatsoever except that I want to know what that truth is.
I have had heavy colds, years ago, where I lost smell and taste. Even plain water tasted funny.
its not smell and taste it's a clogged up nose/nasal/sinus where you can't smell properly which ruins the sense of taste.
I don't know, but i do have a informed suspicion. For over a Century zinc has been known to be an effective antiviral, and one of a very few treatments for the common cold that actually works. It fell into disfavor before the mid twentieth century because of a really annoying side effect. It can cause loss of ability to taste and smell. There was some fear that it could cause permanent damage to the olfactory receptors. It was primarily the result of zinc nasal spray for head colds, for which it was a very effective treatment.
It remains available in the form of cold-eeze lozenges, which is somewhat effective when used early in the course of the infection. Given the random scattered reports of this side effect of Covid, along with the random scattered types of home remedies, including zinc (and possible overuse of zinc), I suspect there may be a connection.
Not conclusive, just an informed suspicion.
