So, I went to visit my parents after almost a year of them refusing physical visits. They now feel somewhat safe. My dad decides to start trashing Trump. He was spitting out every lie that we've seen shared by CNN/MSNBC/ fake news. He claimed that there was no voter fraud, no antifa at the capital and that the Proud Boys are the ones who burned down cities last year and that BLM was trying to protect their communities. He then went on a rant that I shouldn't have a right to say anything because I didn't vote when I was 24 years old. He made the ridiculous statement that we came SO close to losing our Democracy. My son and I sadly got up and quietly walked out from the visit. My parents are lost. They spent the last 4 years being programmed and there is no hope. They have been lied to so much that no amount of "proof" will change their minds.
My parents are gone, I've lost them.....

You make great points without bashing boomers for once. It's true I grew up listening to Walter Cronkite (and that's the way it is) and we hung one every word. Was it all truth? I know now it probably wasn't, but it certainly wasn't like it is now. There are certainly boomers asleep but so are many millennials. Many boomers have managed to learn the technology. But what we have is experience that is passed on to the next generation because we lived it and we can see the frog in the pot progression over the decades.
The wild west that was the internet in my preteens and early teens has been consolidated and swallowed up by mega corporations.
Even good meaning people who try to research hop on google and get swarmed with MSM.
I would say it is unfair to lump an entire generation in to one stereotype. Younger Millennials might act the way that you are describing but older Millennials do not. The current age range for Millennials is 25 - 40 and they are the ones raising the "more based" zoomers that you are thankful for.
In my personal experience it is Boomers and Gen-X that are more brainwashed and follow the leftist agenda. I live in the south so the Boomers are old school democrats that "vote blue no matter who". They were born democrats and they will die democrats. The Gen-X crowd are more in line with the ideals of Bernie Sanders/AOC. They believe in socialist programs and that we must save the world from climate change.
I myself am an older Millennial (36 years old) and a diehard conservative. I am raising a zoomer (14 years old) and fight everyday to keep the media/school system from trying to program him with they propaganda.
Sorry but 1981 - 1994 are Millennials. So if you are currently 40 and will be 41 this year you are Gen-X but if you turn 40 in 2021 you are a Millennial.
Our youngest child is a millennial and you are so right. He thinks we are the dumbest people he knows. We invest in gold, Siler, platinum, us energy etc and he is into cryptocurrancy and video games. We get along great and let's see who comes out ahead. Grandkids are better.
