As someone who has tried to get pregnant for 10 years, I have no words to express the depths of the grief I feel watching this.
I know way too many ppl who have dealt with this, including myself, I honestly just gave up. But this really makes me think and wonder why so many women? I’m gonna check the stats over the years because it sounds to me like a rising trend among many of us women. If so, why?
I want to start by saying how truly sorry I am. It's so hard. It's one of the hardest trials I've ever gone through in my life.
For us, it's actually male factor.... which is also on the rise. I ovulate every month and have semi-regular periods. Not like clockwork, but nothing crazy they just vary in length. My husband on the other hand had 0% sperm morphology. So he has plenty of swimmers and they swim in the right direction and pretty well, but their heads are all wonky, so they can't penetrate my eggs once they get there.
Through a lot of research spanning several years, we may have recently narrowed down what is causing his poor sperm morphology based on a lot of weird symptoms my husband has in addition to fertility problems. Doctors were useless and zero help for us, so we are always researching on our own looking for answers, but they are sooo hard to find. IVF seems to be the go to answer and no one wants to find out WHY these things are happening.
We think he has a MTHFR gene mutation. It's actually very common, but it's more talked about with women who have frequent miscarriages. It's also linked to neurological issues like ADHD and autism. We know he has ADHD for sure, and he may have very mild high functioning autism. Never formally diagnosed, but it wouldn't surprise either of us based on some of his quirks and his therapist agrees lol
Part of the issue if you have this gene mutation is that it makes it very difficult for your body to absorb B vitamins. Since the fix was so easy, we decided to run an experiment and put him on a B-vitamin regimen. It is making a world of difference for him. He used to be really moody and get down for no reason at all. Now, he has so much energy and he is happy and in a good mood EVERY day unless something is actually wrong. It's incredible. He said his brain is so much clearer and he actually cut down on his ADHD meds because he doesn't need as much anymore. It's like a miracle! We are hoping and praying that this will improve his sperm morphology and just maybe we will finally get pregnant. I feel silly for hoping after all these years, but it's something I've never been able to fully let go of.
My little sister also can't get pregnant. She has PCOS and her husband didn't have great numbers, but he actually had testicular cancer in his 20's and had to have one of his testicles removed. They told him it could affect his sperm quality, but that it usually doesn't. Well it did affect it quite a bit. So now they have double issues.
I do wonder what in the heck is causing all of this stuff and why so many couples struggle.....
Hope is never something to feel silly for. I feel so much empathy for you and your husband and both your struggles. But you haven’t given up and you have hope- never feel silly for that. My situation is more of me and my body rejecting it - I gave up and I commend you for not.
But in the end, my heart hurts for you and your husband bc you clearly know what your dealing with and are being proactive. Nonetheless it’s inspiring and something I admire,
I really think something weird is going on because I know way to many ppl in the same situation. And then i too, have a close family friend, in his 30’s who was battling testicular cancer- with the same outcome. Idk if all this is just normal irony or if there has been any research or in depth case studies looking into these issues and how they might correlate to one another regarding demographics and such.
MTHFR. I know it well. I had three strokes at 37 bc of it.
Hit me up if you need any help.
BTW I have never had sperm problems as a result of it - have 2 sons to back that assertion up. :)
Oh that's horrible!!!! In my reading, I've seen that there are different types of this gene mutation and that it can present differently depending on what type you have. My husband does have cholesterol problems and has since his 20's which we always found odd based on how he eats so we are watching that. So far it isn't high enough to warrant medication.
He mostly suffers from neurological symptoms and moodiness along with fertility problems. But it's amazing how the list of things to help curb these symptoms are full of things that he has tried in the past that did work. It's weird. This seems like the missing puzzle piece to explain all these separate things he has had to deal with. Even if it doesn't help with his fertility, I am so thankful for the fact that it is helping with his moods and his brain function. He is so much less stressed just because he can think clearly. He is amazed at how much more productive he is at work.
We have lost pretty much all faith in the medical field after this COVID nonsense and some horrible stories in our own lives and experiences with doctors. So I'm not sure if he will even bother getting officially tested for this. What's the point? My husband tells me all the time I should have been a doctor. I correctly diagnose my friends all the time when doctors seem completely clueless about what's wrong with them.... then weeks later they finally tell them I was right. I just research a lot. I'm a curious person by nature, so I'm always looking stuff up about different conditions.
I take folic acid every day. Basically I have the more severe mutation, my body only uses about 10% of the Folic i take in. I experienced depression and migraines for many years. Only got tested for it bc the doctors couldnt find anything else wrong with me after several days in hospital.
Oddly my bad cholesterol is low but my good is also low.
I tell people I have a genetic condition called MTHFR or "Motherfucker" LOL.
Hahaha That's always what I think when I see the acronym lol
I've heard folate is much better for your body than the synthetic folic acid. May be something worth looking into.
My husband has bad headaches frequently, especially when there are low pressure systems. Although, come to think about it, I don't recall him complaining of a headache in a while. He started the B-vitamin regimen (B complex and B-12 with B-6 on top of that) at the beginning of February. So it's been about a month.
His bad cholesterol is a little high, but his good is very low. Exercise is the best way to boost good cholesterol, but he was constantly feeling blah and down and just really drained, so it was hard for him to want to exercise. I'm hoping he can start now that he's feeling better because his dad had a bad stroke in his 60's, and that does worry me.
I'm shocked that this isn't more widely talked about. It seems very common and has links to ADHD, Autism, depression, anxiety, Parkinsons, Dementia, Alzheimers, Bipolar Disorder, infertility/miscarriages, etc. etc. etc. Sooooo many things seem to be affect by this and the treatment is so simple. Of course drug companies don't want simple fixes. They don't make money from those........
Yes I sometimes buy methylfolate because it is already methylated so body can use it as-is. But I get the folic acid at the grocery store whereas ppl look at me funny even at GNC when I ask for methylfolate lol
Yeah it's widely spread (30% of pop estimated to have) and linked to everything. Blood test is expensive and takes 2 days so thats why they don't often test unless there's a reason.
My migraines are very liveable now and mostly during low pressure systems as well.
I think its vaccination and chemical plus bad diet and lack of physical work in many but not all cases that's my guess.good luck and I hope that it happens for you both.
Birth control and vaccines... but mainly the birth control.. there’s a reason bill gates said birth control and vaccines... they literally sterilize women with these drugs which is the point...
My wife has done a lot of research into this and diet plays a huge role. Specifically a plant based diet is what is the problem for many women.
(hug) I was in that boat too. It suuuucks beyond belief.
This is absolutely disgusting... I can’t believe we live in a world where this is praised.
The original video from the “I get to kill another baby” girl has 340,000 likes on TikTok.
I can’t believe she thought this was something to put online. Goes to show the disgustingly low level of intellect these days. Makes me sick, sad and angry.
I feel so sorry for this poor woman trying for 9 years. God bless her and grant her the gift of a baby??????
It’s a broken feeling for sure- my heart hurts for her as well.
Think this is awful (WHICH I AGREE). WAIT until you see the HORROR of what people in HIGH POSITIONS are doing.
I see how this terrible this is but at the same time it might be a good thing that these leftists don't reproduce.
It would be good if they didn’t reproduce, as in didn’t conceive in the first place. It’s never good that somebody is killing a baby. No matter the circumstances
Okay yeah, I see what you’re saying but please don't broadcast it like it’s something to be proud of.
It's nothing to be proud of.
But at least the gene pool appears to be self-cleansing now that we've destroyed the natural selection mechanism by giving everyone a free ride through life.
Hope this bitch dies in a car accident
Can we just late term abort her
Satanists. May God bless the children.
First one has to be a joke, who the fuck would want to impregnate something with that face.
