I have a 6 yr old and he has been in speech therapy at school. He goes every day all day all year. Private Christian Trinity. Well we had conferences. She beleives Liam has Apraxia of speech. It's can never be cured per say. But it can be managed. I'm scared walking into untreaded territory.
I messaged the mods about this 3 days ago about where to post this to avoid a suspension. So if this needs deleted and replaced somewhere else please let me know and I'll move it. I never got a response from any of the mods so accept my apology if I posted in the wrong place.

I found this: "There is no single approach that has been proven effective in treating apraxia and it has a likeliness of resolving through repetitive tendencies and personal attention." Sounds like a lot of drills and attention is the best possible way to deal with it; hopefully no drugs or surgery is being considered. Prayers coming you way!
There is no effective drug for this condition. Basically there is a neurological problem between where a word is conceived and the oral motor generation.
In other words, everything is fine up to the point where it is necessary to engage the mouth. At that point there is some kind of block or disconnect and speech becomes difficult or impossible.
Therapeutic treatment involves strengthening neurological connections to overcome the problem. It is a LOT of purposeful repetition, but the condition can be overcome.
