From rumblings around GAW, it seems Evspra has thought about taking a break from the site in the past. This, coupled with the shillish "outrage" due to his actions re: GN, probably encouraged his departure.
I don't blame him. Yesterday's reaction to what I saw as reasonable and thoughtful actions taken by Evspra gave me T_D flashbacks. That is not what GAW is about, and it's frankly sad to see.
Hope to see Evspra return when GAW gets its act together.
I can only assume here, but I would think it has to do with the emotional nature of the GN issue, frustration, and a long persisting feeling of needing to get away from GAW for a while (or some combination thereof). The temptation to respond to these posts might be overwhelming if he kept his account, too.
Just speculation, but deleting his account could have been encouraged by the other Mods as well. "Start fresh" or "take a break," etc, could have been the reasoning -- or any number of reasons, honestly.
Also asking the same question.
Why delete your account when many stood by him? This is very confusing.

Yes, it was reminiscent of what happened at TD.
I hope he returns at some point, also.
Understandable I suppose, but why delete the account instead of just not opening GAW for a bit?

I just don't know.
He already tried retiring but came out of retirement due to some of the backend fixes and additions he was making on the site.
Ok, I didn't realize this. This was planned, then?
