I can relate to that - every time I'm around family, friends or stranger, I tell myself not to come off as that 'conspiracy' person. And then I blow it, lol.
I've gotten to the point of asking very targeted questions (which I know the answer to) and make the others defend their bias and illusions. Lots of "Oh Really?" and "Why do you trust that source?" ... keeps you from looking like an asshole, and often gets people to start doubting themselves.
Once they are obviously floundering / questioning, I tend to use the Socratic method (like Q showed us): why do you think they did that? If they were going to steal an election, how do you think they would do it? Do you think they'd have back-up methods if others failed? Which would be harder to detect? Etc etc
My wife's kinda pissed at me now because I think I finally got her suspecting the "Black Eye Club" is real, and she really doesnt want to believe that it is. :)
That's so true of most of the so-called conservative media outlets (at least radio and TV - both local where I am and national) isn't it?. It can drive me nuts. They'll go on a rant about "you have to tune in to my program because you won't believe how bad things are getting ... blah, blah, blah". If you try to point out the statistical impossibility of the election (weighted algorithms, IP addresses from China switching votes. etc., etc.) then it's "oh no, that's a bridge too far". It's like they're complete zombies.
What's worse, since they are the ones with the media voice, it's their responsibility, not their audience's, to track down the election fraud evidence for themselves with as much intensity as anything they've ever reported a concern about. Instead they don't lift a finger.
I really would go nuts if it weren't for the Anons here!
My god. I couldn’t relate to something more. Was at the bar the other night talking to a random, went from our “conspiracy theorists” ideas to reading the Bible. Poor guy was probably looking for any way to escape that conversation.
Laughing at their BS (instead of yelling) is really effective too.
Normals see you laughing (in a friendly gentle manner) and typically pause to reflect. Don't deride them, just gently and faintly chuckle at the MSM shit they regurgitate. Really seems to get through the haze (for me). "What? You mean you haven't swallowed this lie too? Did I just say it was a lie? What's going on?"
I've found the more I learn, the more I want to talk about it, but outside of online communities like this one, most people I personally know don't want to talk politics, even if they are right-leaning & agree with my positions (but are just less well informed).
Stop trying to push information into their head, and instead peak their curiosity... just like Q did with us using the Socratic method.
EVERYONE knows shit's fucked up right now, and even those who won't believe you will still want to talk about it to help them process it. Just be a good listener, and you'll have tons of friends ... until you let the tin hat slip out :)
As a child, I remember being able to enthrall just about any audience with my observations, but that all ended at about age 12. It wasn't that my stories
became less interesting: in fact, I believe they have become more and more interesting as time has passed. What changed is my audience. While children are pure enough to be enthralled by a true story, most adults are not. Most adults don't want to hear anything they haven't already heard on TV. Teenagers are heavily groomed by culture, and they are entertained only by those who can mimic the major entertainers and forms. Although I could do that as a young man, I didn't find it entertaining for myself. Beyond a certain age, I was no longer interested in aping Steve Martin or Robin Williams or whoever was in the news. In short, I grew up. I needed more from my entertainment than a few shallow jokes. I like comedy routines and sports, but only as a sidelight in my downtime. For my main courses, I need to feed on something more substantial. Most adults no longer grow up. They are stuck at the level of comedy routines and sports. They are groomed by long custom to remain at this level. If you get beyond those categories, your audience is lost. They look at you like time traveler from the 19th century. You might as well be wearing a powdered wig and buckles on your shoes. If you say anything interesting, they will ignore it as if it wasn't said.

Oh, but I do. A lot of folks refuse to believe, much less bother to research. They find it much easier to call me a 'conspiracy' person.

Story of my entire fucking life right now, right there!
My god. I couldn’t relate to something more. Was at the bar the other night talking to a random, went from our “conspiracy theorists” ideas to reading the Bible. Poor guy was probably looking for any way to escape that conversation.
Join a church ... the pastors always want to talk about God!
And if you are in an open state, the pot-lucks are delicious!

Curious, how do people balance this?

I dont really balance. Im just often annoyed as hell that nobody will listen lol

True, and mostly agree. There are some Leftists in complete denial it seems, as a defence for their questionable life choices.
Good points, thank you.
Shit, I wound up talking to a lady in home depot for an hour last week. Convo started with her asking me about getting away with not wearing a mask.
Hah! I feel this
