No idea who the trigger pullers were, though I've heard several speculations over the years, but I'm fairly confident I know who hired them, the CIA. The day I watched Ruby shoot Oswald my dad, a MSG (E-8) who earned his CIB in the Korean Conflict, said, "That boy (Oswald) didn't shoot the president, the CIA did. Later he explained that he had seen the CIA's power on display in Korea and JFK underestimated them.
People realize how easy it was when it is pointed out that JFK fired two people over the Bay of Pigs. One was Gen. Cabell, who just happened to have a brother who was the mayor of Dallas. The other was Alan Dulles, who ran the Warren Commission cover up.
Back then, CIA often used mafia hit men to do their jobs, so CIA would have plausible deniability. Today, it is MS-13 and probably others. Most likley, it was 2 or 3 mobsters doing the shooting. Hit was probably put on them shortly after.
