The architects of the tower thought of current (at the time 70s) 707s coming in from a cross country flight in foggy conditions-citing the bomber that crashed into the Empire State building-at prep for landing speeds.
The fuel sparked fires on several levels of what are one acre floors full of highly combustible office furniture and decorations, punching through ventilation systems and stairwells-thus my idea of the Bessemer Effect-air had to be howling upwards toward the opened floors and heating up the steel joists to the softening phase and the structural integrities of the external steel framing were compromised by the actual punctures. That they held out long enough for many to escape can be considered a tribute to the designers. The floors above the entry points became a pile driver to the floors below and roughly 10 acre feet of air (10 foot high X 1 acre) was expelled in a microsecond, thus looking like explosions.
These thoughts are the result of years of arguing with muh government is evil adherents on FB-I refer you to a video on youtube of an F-4 catapulted by rocket sled into a block of concrete to mimic a collision of a plane into a nuke reactor. The results are astonishing.. This I used against the where the planes?? crowd-always with outraged results. I appreciate your thoughtful and respectful response!!
But you answer no actual comments with facts. Like I said the towers were not designed to stop an airliner at 150 mph (130KIAS) because it wouldn't be flying that slow!
You answer none of the questions surrounding the amount of fuel your stating was onboard, "Full" was your statement, incorrect is the truth and about about 6000 gallons by the time the aircraft arrived at the towers.
You don't mention the specific actual temperatures that Jet A or A1 burns at, instead fill each and every office with stuff that is flammable. Do you have any idea what say a large bird will do to the nose of a airliner? Do you understand how fragile aluminium is, at any speed?
So given your theory then of these infamous pancaking floors, what was holding up all of the towers before they fell, surely the first floor couldn't hold the weight of the other 47 above them, I mean it fell at free fall speed meaning there was zero resistance between floors so what was keeping it standing up?
Have you ever seen pictures of the airliner that crashed into a high rise block of flats in Amsterdam? Well guess what, the whole building never collapsed, the masonry did and there was carnage but nothing like the THREE buildings that collapsed on 9 11.
Anyway, please explain how at 32,000' and around various heights how did those onboard make cell phone calls to loved ones? No the aircraft at the time were not fitted with "Satellite phones" in the seats? The aircraft were travelling around 450KIAS at 32,000' (do you have any idea of how fast a groundspeed that is) and just to help, back then your average cell phone would loose signal around 4000' - 8000' feet, but that's not the answer! Good luck.
Out of respect for the thousands that died that day and the thousands that have continued to die from toxins generated, I prefer the small comfort of my reasoning without the OCD of all the arguments held over 'facts and figures' of an event so stunning in its execution, 20 years after and still no TRUE answers.. Good luck to you also!!
