Judging by the look of the ship, it hasn't been docked in quite some time. Rust on the bottom gives it away. Crews always repaint to prevent rust when docked in non hostile territory.
Ditto.
The ship is the USS Theodore Roosevelt. It was in San Diego recently. I have never seen a Naval vessel with so much rust.
You haven't been deployed on one, have you?
No. I'm former Air Force. I was stationed at sn Italian Air Base (NATO) for awhile and the closest US Installation was the Navy Base in Naples. I was there often. Saw some famous ships. I saw the Nimitz :) All of Naples got excited when she came to port. It was very cool.
I'm not sure, but I think that video was taken when the Theodore Roosevelt was returning from Guam. That would explain the rust. It probably isn't recent, e.g. after she returned to San Diego, like I was thinking.
I served on a light cruiser that was Com7thFlt and as a flagship, the deck force chipped and red leaded, painted and on and on-when we did get into drydock, the pneumatic chippers worked 12 hours a day every day. I imagined the lost weight in paint alone was in the tons!! TBS, The Roosevelt is a nuclear powered ship in combat roles so the daily ops are consumed with flight ops, so only essential tasks are necessary. The sailor that was me is envious of this since I remember paintin' in da rain... :P
Must've been a BM in those days, huh?
"Choose yer rate, choose yer fate, Deck Ape."
Should've gone aviation, sucka.
Seriously though, all jesting aside, thank you for your service, Shipmate.

IYAOYAS!
Yepper, but I went into the radio room and learned all kinds of neat things between cleaning the same compartment 3 times a day; Nov 65 the flash messages about the Ia Drang Valley battle Co. Moore led... among much more I can not talk about.. :)
Notice how the view moves from right to left...so we see the 1 first and then the 7
Think mirror.
Who's Playbook failed?
Q 4650 https://qalerts.net/?n=4650 Hitler's play book
Thank you./
1 Ping only Prasilly.............
Let’s go. Please. Go. GODSPEED
The "Theodore Roosevelt"...+17 (mirror)!
Is that the name of the ship?
Thank you. Such an interesting article. It’s all habbening
Yes..
The 71 looks photoshopped to me. It “artifacts” differently than the surroundings
I looked up the aircraft carrier and the 71 is on side like that. Still think it's a mirror
OK...so we have an aircraft carrier and no military action...
Those are not "attack" birds on deck....so to speak. Information warfare. Think logically.
What kind of planes are they and what are they typically used for? I agree information warfare
Those are all F-18's, fighter/attack mission, with a couple E-2's and a helo.
I get that...USAF Family here. Lots of theory floated here. Right now Xidan doesn't even have control of nuclear football according to some. We are vulnerable to attack...even under attack some say. So is this a "defensive" or "offensive" position?
