Except I read that the insurance companies will be the ones paying for the rescue and any losses. Not sure if it will hurt the shipping company.
No insurance company is gonna pay for the fines of missing a Suez Crossing.
Evergreen is a subcompany of Hartford insurance company

A lot of shipping companies are owned by insurance agencies. I have also found it to be a weird way of diversifying when historically its a costly loss.
Apart from rescue and damages / losses, I think it's more about charges and fees for the collateral damage, thousands of ships are now freezed or trying to find another way, that means delays, that means hell of costs in those situations (pilotage / escort / dues / fees and all relative stuffs for a similar ship are measured around 50-100k/h), so yes they will be given a fine for this last part, could be really expensive, but still for a company like this i doubt will reach bankruptcy
