There is much to be learned in this Gospel, which IMO were PURPOSELY left out of The Bible because there’s too much wisdom contained therein. 114 quotes told directly to Thomas the scribe. Not analogies, direct quotes.
The Gnostic texts were left out of the Bible because they teach that one's spiritual journey is accomplished through a direct connection to Source/God, whereas the Bible only includes books that could be adjusted to support the concept that an intermediary is required (priests and the church), thus creating a power base for turning believers into slaves.
Supposedly there was also a vote to determine whether Christ was innately divine or a man who was divinely inspired because we all have a spark of divinity as part of our very essence. The Gnostics held the latter position, but the concept of Christ being innately divine was voted into being because it further supported the concept that the rest of us can only be sinners forever striving to become worthy and therefore needful of the church's assistance.
The powers that want us all to be slaves and grist for their mill have been at it for a long time.
The 'chain of custody' theory sounds like a rationalization after the fact to me. The Bible was created in the 3rd or 4th century, and I doubt any of the books had a solid chain of custody at that point.
I don't know of any site that lists the Gnostic texts, but the book of Mary Magdalen is a text that was lost for a long time, and the church adjusted our perception of her by turning her into a prostitute.
I disagree. If the Holy Bible is read properly, you can see where Christ calls us to Him without an intermediary. It is only man who decided the Church needed to be all powerful and controlling. For example the Bible never mentions "the rapture" by name, and yet it is one of the most propagated theories of Christianity. Look up Margaret MacDonald. Jesus himself (through the shedding of His blood), is all that was required for us to be accepted into the Kingdom of Heaven. I believe the Bible is whole and complete and any other texts can be misleading.
Exactly.... I’m doubting EVERYTHING I was taught in Sunday school. It’s looking more like Jesus left the Holy Spirit in all of us. We have to connect with that spirit. Last week God sent a Dove to sit on my porch for hours.... it’s a lot to handle; what is truth. From my research it seems the Romans\ pope have deceived us for many years under the Cabal, Rothschilds and Evil. Don’t take my word..... RESEARCH. Fake Jews (revelation). Dig deep and learn for yourself.
Striving forever to become worthy? I'm a Christian because of God's grace and his Son's redemptive work on the cross. I need no intermediary. I need to do no works or acts. I only need to accept God's gift. Everything else is distracting noise.
you should read Ruth and Ezra tell me what you think..?.. I have read Thomas and Mary and some of the dead sea stuff, I am not a scholar by any means but I research ancient archeological digs and ancient structures and how they progressed.... yeah check those 2 out

Thie site I posted, if you go to the root, lists others. I like Phillip too ??
The gospel of Thomas wasn’t discovered until 1945, so how could they include it?

The Gnostic Christians were persecuted into extinction after Rome took over the Church. That should tell you all you need to know.
We can’t have the plebes think for themselves, now can we?!!
