Ears are a pretty good biometric feature in humans (and I am sure in apes too!), but I do see some problems with this example: The images are not very high quality and I can stil l see some notable differences; MJs ear is much more extended in the X-direction.
How similar are ears of random people?
To quantify this, you would have to make an image database of a few thousand people and annotate all their ears. Then write a script (or use existing ML tools) to cluster the ear shapes and features.
I am sure you can find many roughly similar ears and I think this pairing is one of them. You could train a classifier to identify people using their ears and get a pretty good quantitative measurement of ear similarity between random people.
What mystifies me most about Joe Biden's ears is how his ear lobes became stuck to his face where they used to be separated. Joe Biden for sure has had a few cosmetic operations, perhaps even a face lift or two; Is this something that can happen during a face lift? Is the ear lobe a good location to "hide the seams" so to speak?
I believe he is still alive but I don't believe he is playing Biden. However, given all that happens now days, would it really be a big surprise at this point?
