The 1964 murder of a nationally known cancer researcher sets the stage for this gripping exposé of medical professionals enmeshed in covert government operations over the course of three decades. Following a trail of police records, FBI files, cancer statistics, and medical journals, this revealing book presents evidence of a web of medical secret-keeping that began with the handling of evidence in the JFK assassination and continued apace, sweeping doctors into coverups of cancer outbreaks, contaminated polio vaccine, the arrival of the AIDS virus, and biological weapon research using infected monkeys.
What about olive oil?
I think olive oil is fine as long as you're certain the source is reliable. Many oils from Italy are cut with cheap oils, it's a mafia thing. I use Organic California extra virgin cold pressed olive oil in moderation, mostly for salads and lower temp cooking.
Correct on all points.
Also to explain the "low temp" for folks: cooking over 450F with Extra Virgin Olive Oil can "break" the oil, causing it to release free radicals, etc. Don't do it.
Use "Olive Oil" for cooking (or better yet, butter, tallow or lard from well-raised animals). And use "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" for salads, etc.
Sigh. Sometimes I skip over stuff. ADHD sort of thought patterns....
To explain:
There are several grades of Olive Oil. "Olive Oil" is not "Virgin" or "Extra Virgin" olive oil. Think of it like this:
First Press of the olives: "Extra Virgin" Second Press: "Virgin" Everything else: "Olive Oil".
The first press and to a lesser extent the second press are "more fragile" when presented with high temperature, than oil from subsequent presses.
I was wondering the same thing. We use olive oil.
