From today's press conference (Fox News 13 Tampa Bay):
"The wastewater is about as acidic as black coffee and contains elevated levels of phosphate and nitrogen, which can feed the algae that causes red tide."
"The total amount of wastewater that will be released is not final, but it could be as much as 400 million gallons."
"The release is permitted by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection under an emergency order issued on Monday to prevent 'a catastrophic release of large amounts of seawater, mixed process water, and embankment materials' from one of the phosphogypsum stacks that has started leaking at the Piney Point facility, which is currently owned by HRK Holdings."
It is just shameful that we pay taxes and fees to keep systems maintained and all over the country everything is going to hell. So much waste and no oversight.
Sounds like some big OP planned in the region ... could be wrong
Well, the Piney Point plant is just outside of Port Manatee, which is a major shipping port in the region. We all know what goes on in shipping ports.
Ever green trap!
Irrelevant.
Bullshit. It is HIGHLY RELEVANT.
It’s a possible environmental disaster but not sure how it’s a part of The Great Awakening.
480 million gallons of toxic wastewater destroying the Florida Gulf coast ecosystem for a decade is irrelevant?
And what are you basing this assessment on?

You pulled up a seven year old article to try to say that his phosphogypsum stack wastewater isn't toxic?
Piney Point = Evergreen?
Lovely
Sounds horrific
gee i wonder if this is punishment for not playing along with crappcine passports
Is this in the area where the computer hack occurred a couple weeks ago with the water system?
Not that I know of. Piney Point has had leaks for 20 years. They just let this deteriorate to the point that now it's an emergency.

I find it impossible to believe that an ecological disaster was part of "the plan"
