“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
Fwiw, I knew what you meant OP. BTW, I thought this post was great - especially insightful regarding how I believe God works through challenging us to show us our misguided ways (sin), and how He wishes us to treat those who suffer.
This is not to say I disliked the replies to your post. But I enjoyed your OP tremendously. And thanks for posting.
It's been a very holy Easter season around these parts. We have rightfully celebrated God's greatest gift to man, and in the morning we return to tracking and fighting evil.
Amen to: TO absolve yourself from sin is impossible. Romans 7 describes quite clearly what happens when we try this route, we find ourselves in a hole that only the Savior can get us out of.
Our sins are covered, granted. (And agreed entirely) We are declared righteous before we are sanctified, also granted. But Romans 6 describes why we don't continue in (habitual, intentional) sin after being redeemed by Jesus.
6 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2) (By no means!) Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? (Romans 6, 1 & 2)
Allow me to anyway so they can shut their stupid fucking mouth.
What proof do you have that a house or building...had a builder?
The building is proof of a builder.
Creation? Who created it?
Creation is proof of a Creator.
The Bible says the HEART is deceitful above all things. How many people have been killed because of "good intentions"?
Jacobins and the French Revolutionaries come to mind - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQxEVHuGnQ4
"The building is proof of a builder." = "Future proves past."
?
Perfect. Carry on, anon.
