Just as Jesus "turning the other cheek" is misunderstood. In those days, to turn your face away from something had a certain interpretation, and not a sign of acquiescing or beung "meek" the way most define it. Someone who knows their Bible well, can expand on this.

If you are facing death from another, pray mightily it is an evil man you face. For an evil man will waste time gloating and toying with you, giving you time to find a way of escaping or countering them. A truly meek man will kill you without hesitation, especially if there is a rational and righteous reason for you to die.
