Live in a rural area outside a metro area, about 1 hour away. I always go shop at a grocery store, amd generally tend to go in maskless.
I head into the store, and try to smile at people ("the beautiful maskless"). I think decent looking people can peer pressure others.
Much to MY surprise i see 3 old ladies (70-80), MASKLESS, and I smile at them, and they smile back at me.
We're getting there. This is a marathon not a sprint team. The best things built in life take time to make but those investments stand the test of time.
Have a great day patriots get comfy We're not done yet.
For various and sundry reasons, I hadn't been out and about much the last few weeks. Yesterday was a nice day, so late afternoon I went out for a bike ride. I rode through some small towns and was stunned to see the restaurants and bars packed with people, dining not only outside, but inside, as well. It was more of a party atmosphere everywhere I rode. I was stunned. I barely saw a mask anywhere. The tide has definitely changed.
Wish it would in the UK. Even seen people jogging and cycling with masks on. :(
Give it time, fren. Your rebellious ex-countrymen to the west will get the ball rolling for you. ;-)

Rebellious would be good, sadly they are totally pathetic.
I've never worn a mask but have an exemption lanyard, wearing it less these days.
My wife bought me one because she was uncomfortable walking about with me whilst I wasn't wearing one (although I do carry that gov issued 'exemption' card).
I told my wife that I would only wear an exemption notice if it was on a background of a yellow star of David. I think she just hopes that I don't get us both beaten up.
My wife is a fearful person unfortunately - a result of poor parenting. Living with a person who doesn't really respond to fear must be trying for her :)
