They aren't taught how to communicate. They're taught to demand and then sulk when they dont get what they want and then react violently. It's a dynamic that begins in the home. So many of our cultural woes begin in the home.
they throw a tantrum when they don't get what they want. When it works they do it again. The way you deal with it when toddlers do it is to let them rage, but make them do it in their rooms. And don't give them what they want.
I blame the anti-smacking laws that were so popular a couple of decades ago. All those toddlers that did not get a good smack on their bottoms then are now roaming the streets being 'rebels'. If we keep rewarding them by giving in, they will keep breaking things.
