Pfizer/Moderna inject the mRNA into the cytosol where it makes the protein.
J&J and AZ inject an adenovirus, which attacks the cells, gets into the cells, then attacks the nucleus. It injects the spike protein DNA into the nucleus. The nucleus makes the mRNA, that gets carried out into the cytosol, and then it makes the spike protein, just like the Pfizer and Moderna.
Anyone who thinks the J&J/AZ are less invasive are completely clueless. As to which is safer, if I had to guess it would be P/M, because of the fewer steps, less invasive nature and much less likely chance of altering the DNA.
However, only data could really tell us, and that is being hidden.
Thanks for clueing me in on the adenovirus. I have not looked into it but had planned to do so. I keep getting distracted by the plethora of information everywhere to look into and go to work at the same time.
This message board has been a Godsend for information and pedes like you researching and taking the time to inform others.
Oddly, it's the Chinese state-owned entity vaccines that are using traditional vaccine technology.
"The bulk of Chinese shots are from Sinovac and Sinopharm, which both rely on a traditional technology called an inactivated virus vaccine, based on cultivating batches of the virus and then killing it. Some countries view it as safer than the newer, less-proven technology used by some Western competitors that targets the coronavirus’ spike protein, despite publicly available safety data for the Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines and none for China’s."
The astra zenica and jj vaccines still inject spike protein DNA into the cell nucleus.
On the contrary, J&J and AZ are adding a step.
