Don't forget that both the GOP and the Democratic Party are private associations. Yes, they receive funding and support from your taxes regularly (with subsidized internal primaries at the least) but they are private clubs who set their own rules.
Exactly. Remember their defence, in court, when they were accused of rigging the primary against Bernie? There was no denial but they said they were allowed to do whatever they wanted. They won their case.
Which police are those?
The ones that held the door open at the Capitol and invited everyone in on Jan 6th?
The ones that continue to enforce the UNCONSTITUTIONAL edicts of corrupt Governors?
The ones that kneel with people that hate them?
Or
The ones holding grandparents with NO BAIL, for the act of walking into the Capitol & taking a selfie?
Cuz there are SOOOOO many good cops to choose from... ??♂️
Guess I shouldn't have brought the police into it, 'cause that's a whole separate issue. Police --- like most any undifferentiated group of people --- generally follow their orders, and the biggest problem today is the corrupt people giving the orders, because the government has been corrupted. My opinion is the police are needed to prevent crime, but it depends greatly on who's leading them. It's only too clear they switch to jackbooted thuggery when so guided. In my area I believe they can be saved before going that far, and I'm certain that riots would destroy the town of they were defunded. Our city recently had a local upset election where we booted the council and changed the police chief as a result.

...and they broke them.
They set their own rules, then piss on those same rules whenever it suits them.
That's why we should defund the parties, not the police.
