Try only drinking water. Just try it for a week, I guarantee that you'll feel better.
I still have my one cup of coffee every day, other than that, I've completely dropped soda (I was having migraines due to too much caffeine and not enough water). The amount of things that it has improved is actually pretty insane. Not nearly as much inflammation, my hand is steady, a bunch of other things I don't really care to disclose lol but I think you'd be really surprised.
Anything in excess will be problematic. Moderation is key.
Aspartame is artificial, so common sense would dictate it's probably not great for you. But an occasional diet soda as a treat is not going to harm you -- the human body is surprisingly resilient when treated well. Several diet sodas a day may cause a myriad of problems, aspartame or no.
Fortunately, aspartame is one of the most researched artificial sweetener. Unfortunately, most published research (on anything) is biased and/or purchased by special interests.
I would suggest switching to a natural sweetener, but even with those, you can still overdo it, so exercise moderation.
It has been proven to cause cancer. It was used in the soda Tab way back when. My favorite meal was an iced cold Tab with a hotdog with a little bit of mustard. Gave up the soda and hotdog when I got salivary gland cancer. Go figure. My oldest brother always told me it was going to give me cancer, and I did.
I am fighting a cold, flu, or what ever it is called these days. The whole family is. Just took the store brand of Vicks cold and flu, boy does that steam open my nasal passages! Aspartame is a cancer causing agent. I would recommend agave (yes, from the plant that gives us tequila), honey, monkfruit, stevia, these are from plants that aren't as bad for you. Try to stay away from sugar, corn syrup, etc.
I do remember when I researched years ago, Aspartame was finally labelled as a carcinogenic and was removed from the market. A decade or two later, and plenty of lobbying by the corporations, Aspartame is back on the market with "inconclusive" results as to whether or not it causes cancer.
Good health to you, my friend.
Get Stevia. The "O" brand from safeway. (Organic) No reason to use chem sweeteners! Soooo bad for you! Stevia is perfect. Seet as sugar but no aftertaste and does not affect blood sugar so ok for even for diabetics. Make sure it is that brand though. Others are mixed with a different alcohol sugar thst does affect blood sugar
I just yelled at my husband about this in his diet iced tea and looked up a bunch of articles. Do a duck duck go search and you'll find lots of stuff. Very harmful in many ways.
Be careful with this one. There was once a war. A war between artificial sweeteners. Scientists and politicians were bought. All sides went dark, spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt that persists to this very day.
It's probably fine at any sane level. It takes so little to make things sweet and the metabolic products aren't a problem at low levels (you're already getting them from other natural sources).
I wouldn't eat a pure spoonful a day. A few diet drinks won't hurt you.
My sister did a report for school on aspartame like 23 years ago point her findings towards it causes cancer.

Yes. It has been implicated in some very serious things too, affecting nerve sheaths. ALS and MS.

You are welcome. We need to support and help each other out to live our best lives possible.
Aspartame is equivalent to nicotine both are bad and VERY addictive cancer causing substances stray away when possible , moderation is key

The dose makes the poison.
Tons of articles on aspartame on natural news.

Anecdotal I knew a guy who drank 2L of aspartame diet cola for years and all his hair fell out.
I didn't and my hair still fell out! WTF!
You’ll survive.
The human body can really handle a lot of crap.
In 1900, life expectancy in the United States was 47.3 years; in 2017, it was 78.6.
