My husband was recently admitted to the hospital for an overnight stay. We were adamant that we wanted zero Covid testing. Numerous attempts were done in the ER and the hospital division, but we held strong and declined. They treated him as infected with gowning, gloving, masking, and face shield. No visitors except myself, who had to gown and glove. I removed my mask in the room, nothing was ever said. Interestingly one doctor in full regalia wouldn’t accept a piece of paper with my husband’s PCP private cell phone number, because he couldn’t touch the paper in an infected room, but after he removed his gown and gloves, he exited the room without washing his hands! Someone explain to me: after walking through the hospital (coming from a home that is presumed infected with Covid, since they are presuming my husband was infected) donning PPE, removing it in the room, and walking back through the hospital, with my presumed infected clothing, that this protects anyone from infection. The isolation gowns are super thin, thinner than the surgical masks, so I presume germs can penetrate. All of this is an illogical farce.
its hardly ebola ffs
You were even lucky they admitted him at all for refusing the COVID test. My hubby had to take it to have surgery. He needed to have to remove his prostate for cancer. They refused to allow him to go to the hospital without it. Thing is we had to drive to 90 minutes to their hospital to have it done three days before surgery was scheduled. They wouldn't allow him to have it done anywhere else.
Then they NEVER gave him the results. We assume it was negative bc his surgery was performed as planned.
