Let see - I bugged out a decade ago to live on a remote Island in the largest body of potable water in the world. My only infrastructure dependent on mains power is the deep well pump. I can bucket fresh water.
I own six acres of second growth. It is said that properly caring for an acre of trees will provide firewood for a lifetime. I have also a 500 gallon propane tank, and 100 gallons of diesel.
I have guns and ammo. My neighbors have ammo sufficient to have caused the 5.56 shortage of a few years ago. We have a FFL-III neighbor.
We have beef, pigs, and truck gardens, wheat, oat and corn fields. We have two pairs of DG that can each provide 2.5 MWe from 100,000 gallons of diesel.
The smallest school district in the state with ~80 K-12 under one roof. A two doc clinic, but not an X-ray machine.
The best piece of advice is to get a good potable water filter system.
Berkey systems are great, but expensive. You can get the knock-off filters on Amazon for $60 for 2 filters. Make your own gravity water filtration system using two 5-gallon buckets, simple plastic spigot and a little tubing. You can find instructions online, but it's really easy. You can build one in an hour or so.
That will give you the ability to filter up to 6,000 gallons of clean, potable water from any source (lake, pond, stream, rainwater).
When SHTF, remember the rule of 3. You can live for 3 days maximum without drinking water. You can live for 3 weeks without food. In a bad scenario, more people will die or get seriously ill from water borne diseases or drinking contaminated water. Those who have good, healthy drinking water will be those that survive.
The reason I like the 5-gallon bucket thing is... it's easy to break down and transport, light weight... and it looks like two 5-gallon plastic buckets to a casual observer.
Thanks. Are Berkey filter systems actually able to filter bad water? For instance I mean, dirty water or even pool water? I didn't think they were that good, but I don't really know. I like your rule of 3. That's helpful to keep in mind. Thanks!
Really not much here as far as pointers, per se. I live in a rural area, have my own "roaming beef", large garden (can/preserve a lot), plenty of good hunting. I was taught young what is edible in the wild and what isn't and to be an efficient hunter/trapper. We have a deep well and diesel generator with never less than 100gal on hand. Our "bug-out" location is much the same but considerably larger. I consider myself very blessed.
Indeed you are. Not many could do what you are doing, at least in terms of population percentage. Out of curiosity, are you able to butcher your roaming beef yourself? I ask because I recently heard processors in some locations are booked up years in advance.
God by my side I'm ready for anything. Father lead us all home

Sounds like heaven, all you need are books and a few decks of cards.,
Some of that sounds like heaven and some of it I didn't understand. :D
Won't know until it happens, but the wife and I can eat indefinitely, hold off a small army if needed.
Maybe you would consider creating a post giving pointers and advice to novices?

I'm as ready as I can be.
Is anyone ever really prepared?

Just need another 100-200 ounces of silver, and I'm set.
At this point I'm begging for it. Seal the hatches board the windows and bring it down.
Rig for the REDs
Define "ready"
At this point, I'm not considering leftists humans, let alone americans
