Has anything more come of the lawsuit against Kamala Harris being ineligible for VP and prez since she’s not a natural born citizen ? Both her parents were citizens of other countries when she was born on US soil I thought at least one parent had to be an American citizen.

It is only a problem if she were the VP
fucking kek. awesome.
No. Not true. It doesn't matter if your born in the U.S. to parents who haven't been Naturalized yet. If you're born here on U S. soil, you are a natural born U S. Citizen.
My father is the son of two Irish Nationals. H was born here in Miami, FL. He was issued a SSN and a U.S. Birth Certificate, the ONLY two documents issued to NATURAL BORN U.S. CITIZENS.
He was sickly as a child. His birth parents were poor Irish immigrants. His pregnancy was hard on his birth mother because she was Rh-. He is too. They couldn't get the care they needed for both of them in U.K. controlled Ireland, so they defected/immigrated here. They couldn't afford the insanely expensive treatments he needed as an infant, and U.S. Immigration enforcement was wanting to kick them out, so they gave him up for adoption and left. That decision saved his life. This all happened in 1950, WELL before Kamal-Toe was even a glimmer in her parent's eyes. The rules on this haven't changed, either.
Hell, if a foreign national gives birth to a child on a U.S. military installation, a U.S. Embassy/Consulate, that baby is born on U.S. soil and is considered a natural born citizen. This hasn't changed, to the best of my knowledge, in decades.
Enough with this type of hopium. No matter how bad we may want her "out of office," she is a Natural Born U.S. Citizen. Period. Move on, folks. There TRULY is NOTHING TO SEE HERE.
This was the original basis behind the "Dreamer." We've had LOADS of people born to illegal immigrants who were allowed to stay while their parents couldn't because the kids were Natural Born U.S. Citizens and their parents weren't. We've also had LOADS of parents allowed to stay here to raise their kids, even while they themselv a were classified as "undocumented" because it's inhumane to force parents to leave without their infants who were born here. I know a lot of Cubans, Haitians, Dominicans, and Jamaicans who I went to school with in Miami that were Natural Born U.S. Citizens even though their parents were "undocumented" or "illegal immigrants." And ALL of their parents were allowed to stay, too. Most ended up getting Green Cards, some didn't and are STILL here.
anchor baby
Don't get piglosi's hopes up.
Unfortunately the US still has birthright citizenship, meaning any child born on US soil is a US citizen. This was the method used to grant freed slaves citizenship after Emancipation. While effective for that purpose, it has created the problems of birthing tourism and anchor babies.
Well, to be fair she isn't a real VP. You ha e to be elected to a position of leadership in the real U.S.A. Trump is running that, these guys run the corporation of the United States
The real backlash won't come until Biden disappears and she's slated to become Resident of the WhiteOREhouse.
There will only be backlash from the illinformed or uninformed on this subject.
It won’t come at all because if she was born in the US she can still serve as president
I'm a first generation American, born from immigrants. IF she was born on US soil, she's an American; as much as I dislike her it is how it is.
No Person except a natural born citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible.
Nope. Birthright citizenship is a thing here in the USA.
Doesn't mean it SHOULD be. But it is. Has been for a long time.
Our Native Country: The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens.
In drafting the United States Constitution, originally the requirement was No Person shall be eligible to be President of the U.S unless he now be a citizen of one of the States, or hereafter be born a Citizen of the U.S. After reviewing the Draft, the question presented then is whether the U.S is willing to allow persons who were born without sole allegiance to the U.S to be Commander in Chief of Our Military. For this specific fear that prompted our first Supreme Justice John Jay-to suggest to George Washington the following: "Permit me to hint, whether it would be wise and seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of foreigners into the administration of our national Government; and to declare expressly that the Commander in Chief of the American Army shall not be given to nor devolve on, any but a natural born Citizen.
The 14th Amendment was ratified on 1866: John Bingham confirms that understanding and the construction the framers used in regards to birthright and jurisdiction while speaking on the civil rights of citizens in the House on March 9, 1866'[1] find no fault with the introductory clause [S 61 Bill] which is simply declaratory of what is written in the Constitution, that every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen.."
that would leave out Kamala then, her parents were citizens of other countries at the time.
[they] DID care, hence the reason why his Hawaii Birth Certificate was forged.
