It seems that vaccinations have dropped off now, with two very different camps in America.... for the vaxx and AGAINST the vaxx. For reasons like this article points out, my wife and I remain unvaccinated, and will continue to do so, although it has cost us friendships from the pro-vaxx people we know. Such scared little girls, I hope they don't suffer ill effects from their poor choices, but I guess we'll see within a couple of years.
That is a very good way of looking at the situation. This new type of world war has exposed many people for who they truly are... which in the long run is extremely valuable information that we would never have discovered under normal circumstances.
Friends come in all variations. I hear lots of people estranging themselves from friends and family over this business - You definitely don't want to surround yourself with syncophants - you weaken your own knowledge and also lose out from the 90% good that's left in your friends. This too shall pass. Scorched Earth might sound like a strategy but it's not a particularly good one to have with your family. Let them vent then change the subject. (I plead ignorance to stop the conversation in it's tracks. It takes 2 to debate (unless Schizophrenic). Don't throw the baby (friend) out with the bathwater (screwy ideas). There was a reason you were hanging out with these people in the first place - those original reasons are still in there.
I agree that it is pretty nuanced. My point really is don’t fret over lost friendships if they were the ones to cut ties over this stuff. I’d even go so far as to say don’t even pursue friendship with those types unless they come and apologize and there is a renewed sense of respect for each others ideas. No respect, no friendship - differences are certainly fine and, in fact, expected

They were never your friends then. This vax drama hasn’t changed people - it has only exposed them

Understood.
Its a shame they have finally succeeded in tearing us all apart.
