I think the Democrats took over Houston in the chaos caused by Hurricane Katrina. Perhaps they already owned it, but what I saw in the aftermath of Katrina was a total takeover/invasion of Houston by the Gibs Team.
However, I am sure that Houston got rammed to the rafters with Dindus and Gibsmedats in the aftermath of Katrina. They just took all of the dregs from N.O. and "resettled" them in Houston, it seemed to me. And of course made sure they were set up to vote.
But I do also think that Houston was super-polluted prior. How do we know? Katrina = 2005. Sheila Jackson Lee = 1995.
Yes, in that case, I agree. I think Houston is "red" (I never got into using those terms). I think the only reasons, really, why these Ds are winning in Houston are "careful districting" (which has gone on for decades), and transplants from N.O.
"Normal Houston" is conservative and stay-off-my-lawn.
It may have looked like this form the outside. I can promise you all levels of Houston remained after the refugees. Lots of stories of drug dealers being tossed out of neighborhoods and extremely intense situations of Houstonians finding refugees in their kitchens in the middle of the night and now being friends that meet on Christmas etc. houston Ian’s turned that into a win.
People need to band together to fight adversity, where possible. To "make common cause".
I have faith in Texas. I have less faith in all of these assholes we seem to have everywhere, these days. Where I live shall remain nameless and remarkably "asshole free". For now.

Even with fraud we were almost a 50/50 split
Without the fraud Houston is red
I am not so sure.

The Defense Rests, Your Honor.

Good.
