This is the best method I've found for downloading Youtube videos. It has a great user interface, and quite a few great options for various video formats and quality levels. It even allows you to download more than one video at a time, or even entire playlists at a time.

This is the correct answer. 4K Video Downloader is great.

I've also used ffmpeg lately, but it's way more complicated and I only use it for non-youtube. Specifically for YouTube, it's 4K Video Downloader all the way.

Here's the process I use on PC:

  1. Install VLC player (free)
  2. Go to the Youtube link, copy the URL
  3. Open the URL Stream (CTRL+N) Info, paste URL and open link
  4. Press CTRL+ i, Copy URL
  5. I've found this is easier in Edge. Paste URL in browser, open video and click 3 dots at bottom-right of player
  6. Click "download" and the video will be saved to your downloads folder or specified location.

Clipgrab. Can download everything up to 4k and works in multiple sites. Also, Snaptube for mobile

i always put a nsfw in front of youtube and then use a video downloader to download the video
