All preteens/teens go through an awkward stage where they have a hard time fitting in and are trying to figure out what their identity as a person is. When I was 12/13, the internet didn't exist and I did a lot of dumb escapism to find refuge from those awkward feelings. I pretended I was secretly from the worlds in my favorite books, or that i embodied the spirit of my favorite characters.
And then I grew out of it and went on to become a normal adult, as did all my friends, because no one was standing over our shoulders preying on that tender part in our development.
Nowadays a kid going through what I went through would be assured by twitter/tumblr that they were demigender otherkin that needed to find themselves on the Astral Plane and use their own set of unique pronouns. And also maybe consider starting hormone therapy to achieve their "true self", forever altering their bodies to ensure they could never resume normality even after they've outgrown that nonsense
My girlfriend is bisexual and she has a 14 year old daughter who she's grooming to hate boys and men and reminding her that she has no problem if she's gay.
When I was 12 years I just wanted everything to be completely different from normal. I spent every day for a couple years waiting for an Alien to come and take me away. If Internet existed then and people told me this kind of crap I might have jumped on it too. Preying on impressionable kids has to be crimes against children
I’m a millennial, I had a fun childhood with toys and offline games. The first time I ventured on the internet was around 14 years old~ I think. I learnt so many new things from the internet but I also learnt* about the adult stuffs there. I definitely don’t recommend internet for children under 14-15. It’s very easy to get bad influence online. Protect your kids and supervise their phone, devices.
I'm sure a lot of it is adults, but there's also a feedback effect, even when it's just kids.
Remember when you were 12, how you always wanted to show you know you knew more than you actually did? now imagine you had access to academic journals talking about things way above your head and you've been hanging out with kids who like to pretend they're magical animals from the kingdom of the Sparkle Pixies or wherever, and you've got other kids bullshitting you from halfway across the globe, claimg their "dad" or "aunt" or whatever is an advanced research in zoonotic biology or something.
Either way, if you have kids, you should definitely know who they're talking to and what they're talking to them about, if for no other reason so you can counter the bullshit, because once stuff like this gets into your head, it's a bitch getting it out.
Case in point: I used to be a global warming true believer.
While I agree, my best friend was a parent like that—private Christian Schools or homeschooled her kids, wouldn’t let them date (they were to “court”), no cell phones, church every week, constantly teaching, etc. Three of her four kids went sideways once they left home for college. The oldest son comes to family get togethers in a dress and makeup. They have totally rejected God.
So, as a parent with grown kids in their 20’s, my advice is—find a public school that has good teachers. Do not isolate them from our culture or they will have culture shock in college. Pray every single day with them before they go to sleep. Pray for protection, wisdom, knowledge, their future, for good friends, for blessing in their lives and friends’ lives, etc. They need to hear you pray for them and how to pray. This is the only way I have found to raise get healthy kids. Prayer.
Yes. Exactly.

Open child molestation in school curriculum; I can’t stand it
Yeah this exactly. What good is taking her phone away when the school has drag queens reading “Santa touched me there” to her ??
Amen
Lazy fucking parents shouldn't be giving tablets/phones to preteens period

It's a long story but I am learning a lot and I would have never known anything about first-hand

Parents who don't paRent are as big a risk for their kids than the pedestrian. Phones are a great way to hurt them.
Just like a vegan cat, we all know who is really making that teen's decisions.
I've said it for years. All of this is about coming for your children. And if you read what they say, it isn't just 12 year olds.
