High gallows is not ideal. The more humane gallows style has a longer drop to break the neck to reduce suffering, or something like that. I think Iraq messed up with Saddam, failed to break his neck, and he took time to die.

So either a shorter drop or a firing squad.

I don't want them to drop. I want to see them wenched up slowly, maybe even let them down where the toes and touch a few times so they can get their air.

Would help if the executions were to be performed in groups. Broad range of witnesses, less expensive too.
