It's INDEPENDENCE DAY. Put the meaning of the day back into your language. "The fourth of July" is just another day, like the 25th of December. It's INDEPENDENCE DAY and it means something. Choose today, right now, to change your language in order to put meaning back into the holiday and remind others just why you're celebrating.

You’re absolutely correct. I saw so many work emails today, encouraging everyone to have a great “holiday weekend” and a “great Fourth of July,” and it feels hollow. No meaning behind it. I replied with “happy Independence Day” with no responses
Happy Independence Day back at you! Signed, the ghost in the machine. ?
I legit saw someone at work Slack "Happy holidays". Yes, plural.
I'm glad you did. I wussed out on an email yesterday and I shouldn't have. Missed opportunity.
