When I first got on the net it was called PeachNet and it was run out of GATech. My father knew a guy that was a prof at Dekalb College and they had just linked in to GATech. I got on IRC and talked with some students somewhere in the NE.
Many people don't understand that for the first few years the net was just a haphazard thing setup by colleges. Later they tried to control it but the 1st amendment made that VERY difficult. It was years later when they created things like Facebook in an attempt to take control.
Yep, and with the way MySpace died you just know they did things to sabotage it somehow. Name one other platform that was that popular and then suddenly everyone leaves for another platform that is only modestly better?
Yeah, I had some time to think about how they would do that and you've given me another piece of the puzzle. Its so simple really... you simply have the MSM stop talking about MySpace EVER... then you talk about FB constantly plus you get all of your Hollywood controlled stars to switch sites... more importantly to stop using MySpace all together. As everyone moves to chase whoever their favorite musician/actress is etc poof MySpace just fades to nothing in 6 months flat.
Which is exactly what happened. It was very sudden. Too Sudden. Then the CIA has their database. All they have to do is just not screw it up. Now they are so powerful they ban people and do whatever the hell they want. The sheep still won't leave.
You're right though more and more people pay less and less attention to famous people.

They followed the stars. Not happening like that anymore.
