Many Catholics are upset over woke bishops and cardinals and were leaving for traditional faith churches. But this with Fr Altman was the final straw. I will not attend a church where 'good called evil and evil called good'.
I would rather a priest yell at me about sinning than one who says sin is ok.
I'd love to see Fr Altman ministering on his own show on EWTN.
I and my family are those "many Catholics" that are upset over the wokeification of the Catholic Church. Many in my new circle of friends are against this modern take on the faith, too. I've seen the traditional parishes and churches grow exponentionally, while the Vatican II Novus Ordo type churches are fading and slowly dying.
The Vatican doesn't want this. There have been rumors of a Vatican III soon, and even more modernist propaganda pushing. They want the traditional churches to die. They want to completely abolish Latin masses. Before Father Altman, there were no Latin masses at that parish. Now, without him, there will be no more again. He was the only priest in the last 40 years or so to give Latin mass.
And dont forget....I only donate to my church, not the diocese, the seminary, catholic charities etc. You may have found the right church but it may still be under the woke bishop.
Don't worry, we only donate directly to the church, and usually we would put money directly into Father Altman's hands, and told him to save it for himself if he gets in trouble, or to use it for the church's repairs. We trust him enough to do the right things with it. Even though almost a million dollars was raised for him to help fight against the slander and libel about him, it seems as though even his lawyers can't do anything to change this outcome for him. So that money he raised will now be used to repair his church, fund their little school, and also help other priests in similar predicaments as him.
Oh so you are from his parish. Bless you.
Not me, no, I go to a different parish. I'm trying to not let my exact location be known.
Dont blame you. Just sounded like you know Fr personally and how lucky you are.
Find whatever church in your area conducts the Latin mass and go there. The Novus Ordo parishes have devolved into nothing.
Remember Jesus' words to Peter - And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)
"The Bible clearly teaches that society will degenerate in the end times, becoming as evil as it was in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39). The Apostle Paul, speaking as a prophet, says that society will descend into a black pit of immorality, violence, and paganism (2 Timothy 3:1-5). He asserts that men will be “lovers of self, lovers of money, and lovers of pleasure.” People will be “boastful, arrogant, and unholy,” and children will be “disobedient to parents.”
We should be deeply concerned over these developments, not only because we are witnessing the destruction of our beloved America, but because both Jesus and Paul prophesied that when these things occur, the Church will come under attack and individual Christians will be persecuted.
Jesus said that as lawlessness increases, “most people’s love will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). He stated that in this hostile atmosphere, many professing Christians will “fall away” and will proceed to cooperate in the persecution of their former brothers and sisters in Christ (Matthew 24:10). Paul indicates the same thing when he says that people will be “haters of good” and that they will therefore be “brutal” and “reckless,” reviling those who stand for righteousness (2 Timothy 3:2-4)." Don't worry, I'm already going to a traditional Catholic church, one that is not tied to the local diocese and is therefore able to do what it wants without public opinion holding any kind of power over it.
If your church is woke stop going. Gather around your kitchen table with other believers and study the Bible and worship together.
Thankfully mine is not woke, but I worry about Father Altman's parish getting a woke priest and causing people to leave, eventually closing it down. That's what they want.
People need to come out of Babylon. False churches like the RCC and the SDA are forms of Babylon. The real church, the final remnant church, will be people coming together in their homes or around campfires to praise and worship. Fancy buildings, weird clothes, and rituals will fall away.
Yes, I was attending an SDA church. This weekend will be my last attendance.
By RCC I assume you mean Roman Catholic Church? FYI, the Catholic Church was the FIRST church, the UNIVERSAL church, that's what "Catholic" means. Everything else, in my opinion, and in the opinions of all ancient church leaders and saints, is false. St. Peter, our first Pope, was Christ's apostle. You can't get much closer to Jesus than that. I'd like to know how some guy in the 1500s understood or knew more about Christ than St. Peter did.
You may not like what the Church has become now, I don't either, but just because there are evil men in control doesn't mean that I'm going to abandon the Holy Mother Church. Same with America, just because evil men are in control doesn't mean it's not worth fighting for and remaining inside of it to save it.
Sigh whatever though, this is all probably going in one ear and out the other. I'm getting really sick of the anti-Catholic views on this site, and it's starting to tick me off. I KNOW the Church is currently corrupt, I KNOW all of this, that doesn't mean that's how it started though, and I'm not abandoning it when I know it can be saved.
The farther the Catholic church is from Rome the less Catholic and the more Christian it becomes.
You're a brother in Christ.
I am a Catholic, which were the FIRST Christians. You can look up the history on that. I've said what I wanted to say. I'm done with all this anti-Catholic hatred on this site.
I'm not your enemy or even disputing who formed the first church. It was corrupted early in its history though.
It's not worth fighting or arguing over. You're a brother in Christ.
And the offshoots that began from the Catholic church aren't corrupt? None of them at all? You're telling me things I already know. I KNOW the church is corrupt, but it was NOT corrupted early in its history. It has been infiltrated only recently by free masons and such, around 200 years ago. That's not "early in its history."
I'm sick of being told my own faith by protestants or lutherans or baptists. I wouldn't argue over it if you would stop telling others you think you know more than they do about their own faith.
Again, this anti-Catholic rhetoric is starting to push me away from this community online here. And it all seems to stem from the same typical anti-Catholic talking points that have been proven wrong time and time again.
I guess I'll correct you now, but I'm not a guy, so I'm not a brother in Christ.
Anyway, you're going to say the same things as last time, so why even bother correcting or trying to tell you the truth, when you just don't want to believe it?
My mother told me about this on July 8th, but I felt so disgusted that I couldn't post about it until now.
Bishop Callahan is catering to the secularists that never go to church rather than those that have saved Fr. Altman's parish. Mark my words, they will send an ultra-woke, ultra-modernist priest to take over, he'll spout the typical Father Jimmy Martin gay propaganda, the people of the parish will leave, donations will stop, the parish and church will close, and that's exactly what they want.
If they can't turn parishes ultra-woke and gay, they close them down. That's (((their))) ultimate goal.
Sorry to hear this news, and the increasingly concerning state of the Catholic church, with many faithful servants still remaining. Appreciate the posting. Thanks.
The Vatican is pushing extremely hard for the new modernist take on the faith. Rumors are circulating that Vatican III is up soon, and that the Latin mass will be abolished entirely. I'm waiting for the shoe to drop on them, but it seems like even if Trump were to return, and all the evil in the world, including in the Vatican, is brought to light, they still wouldn't stop their satanic push. It seems like the only way the corruption in the church can be dealt with is by the laypeople rising up against them. No idea how it could work though.
There have been a number of prophecies foretelling the end of the Roman Catholic papacy. From what I've read, these line up with either Francis or Benedict as the last pope. Although I'm not Catholic (raised without religion, but awakened to spirituality and came to Christ as an adult), I appreciate how it will be difficult for Catholics should that happen. There are many denominations, in addition to individual congregations/parishes and pastors, who will open their doors with pure fellowship if that is called for. I know there is holiness within the church, just as I know that there are good people and good works under corrupt governments everywhere. How this holiness will express itself is the only question. I will pray for Catholics and all seekers of Christ. Blessings.
