I wonder if [they] were screwing around with the chickenpox vaccine and somehow came out with a weaponized version after infecting primates?

With what we know about SARS-Cov2, it's not so farfetched.

I meant smallpox, not chickenpox.

I remember smallpox escaping from a lab in the UK in the seventies, where they were mucking around with it, after declaring that smallpox had been eradicated the year before.

it is possible it is not a result of natural occurrence but a lab experiment gone wrong. Or worse another bio weapon aimed against civilians.
