A vaccine passport isn't the same as a regular passport. The vaccine passport is just proof of vaccination. You're right about the process to get an actual passport, but the vaccine passport at this point can just be the vax card that you get when you get the jab
I think it's still accurate because even if the passport is just a piece of paper, it wasn't the first step of the process. Just like getting the vaccine you need to go somewhere or schedule an appointment for a passport; either way an effort has to be made to acquire them, they aren't handed out. So regardless of whether you're going to get a passport, go to the doctor, or to the DMV for voter ID, it would be disingenuous to differentiate any of those steps due to racism or privilege
Right but getting the vaccine is free, and a much shorter process than a passport, which requires a number of steps and a waiting period. In a sense, they literally are being handed out now. People are going door to door with them. And then boom, passport.
Additionally, the number of places who offer vaccinations, and subsequently passports, are far greater than the number of places that can get you ACTUAL passports. It's much easier it is to get a vaccination in bumfuck ohio than it is to get a passport

I’m pointing out the response you’re going to get trying to use this argument.
The problem liberals have with voter ID is that lower SES people don’t necessarily have the opportunity to go get one easily, especially with no national holidays dedicated to voting.
If the solution was for the government to send someone to your door when you turn 18 to take your picture and give you your ID, then the problem is solved. Liberals no longer have a problem with voter ID.
Trying to use that argument against a vaccination program is going to lead to the same answer. Liberals would agree that not having access to the vaccine would disadvantage people of low SES, but a door-to-door vaccination program would fix that problem easily.
Report me if you want, but what I said is going to hold up whenever you use this against the outside world. Just trying to give you a heads-up why this would be an utterly unconvincing tactic.

That's a good point If black people are so illiterate that they can't get a voter ID Why would they push them to get a vaccine ID.

Push for vax-ports to be accepted as I.D. for voting will stop this push real quick.
