I truly cant sum up the amount of hate I have for youtube. Since I swapped to dissenter browers i get nothing but 30 sec ads followed by 1-5min long ads.
You just made my "you effing Rockstar list" I have been screaming at youtube for months about this and I am so happy you posted that. I just loaded adnauseum for dissenter and it works like a charm. Thank you SOOOO much!
Before I removed the app from our tv I would regularly see 15+ minute long "ads". Longest I saw was an hour long. It was a friggin full episode for some new series. Fucking ridiculous.
I've used both and prefer newpipe, it's got a ton of features and has been more stable so far. From their github:
NewPipe does not use any Google framework libraries, nor the YouTube API. Websites are only parsed to fetch required info, so this app can be used on devices without Google services installed. Also, you don't need a YouTube account to use NewPipe, which is copylefted libre software.

I use AdNauseum and uBlock Origin and I have yet to see one commercial on YouTube. This is on desktop tho.

Haha great! No problem, fren!

I use this trick:
open Firefox incognito and the YouTube video you need
when it starts playing video freresh after 2 sec of video, sometimes you need to do it 2x
Their script "thinks" that something is wrong with that ad and it skips it then. Works 80-90% of time for me.
AdBlock plus and uBlock Origin on desktop.
Android? Newpipe
If you've just discovered newpipe, I would suggest trying vanced as well. It's good at limiting ads to 5 sec
I don't get any ads with vanced
