Not true - there was a more contagious and symptomatic flu virus that they named covid.
However, there is no vaxx - there is a flu shot-like injection that wears off in 6 months and has still unknown detrimental long term side effects.
Closer to a cold, technically.
Among other viruses that cause the common cold, including Rhinovirus, many colds are caused by strains of corona virus. (technically ebola is also a strain, but it's an unusual case, and it's usually restricted to certain parts of Africa, thanks in large part to the sub-rural nature of that part of Africa
It just happens to be a particularly unpleasant cold.
