Why was the LAN adapter enabled? Also, before someone says "LAN is local area network you dumdum", it's commonly referred to as "LAN adapter" in BIOS even though what it technically should say is "Onboard Ethernet adapter".
So not only was the LAN adapter enabled, but it was enabled with PXE.
As for the LAN adapters, these would also be required to setup an 'intranet' (internal network).
It doesn't prove that any machines were connected to the 'internet'.
It does however give credence for the need to inspect the routers or their logs although I suspect these have long been wiped.
We're not talking about the wifi settings in the BIOS. Also, they DID have the BIOS passwords, and they were released last night.
What we're concerned with is the LAN adapter.
See here.

Well let's wait and see where this leads.

I'm with you on this . Those routers have long been not wiped but completely destroyed.
Nothing is ever really deleted
True that... I just hope the folks that have it all will do the right thing.
That's a misconception. There's a ton of software that will permanently delete data from physical drives and flush RAM and caches.
