For the computer illiterate out there, please don't go downloading malware posing as bittorrent clients.
Please don't use it to grab anything pirated unless you know what a VPN is and know which ones are trustworthy.
I'm on Linux, if you want a good multiplatform client, qBittorrent works well. (coincidentally it starts with a Q)

Bittorrent is a communications protocol for peer to peer networking. Your computer can be used to run a Bittorrent client (qBittorrent, Transmission, Rutorrent) which will then connect directly with other computers world wide to download files.
You start the download by downloading a .torrent file (a small tracker list to start the procedure) from a torrent site (the pirate bay) or a magnet link (the same list delivered differently). You load the file into the torrent client and watch as your computer connects to The UK, the Netherlands and Honduras to speedily get your shit!
It's how the bulk of online movie piracy is transacted which has now become a patriotic duty.
Patriotic duty, lol. The rest of your comment was quite serious and helpful, then you ended with that. Made me laugh. Thanks!
No probs. It's true to boot.
